In the boys’ room, while everyone was pondering how to write their letters, Zhong Jiaqi took the pen out of his mouth and suddenly said, “Today, I took Jian to a traditional-style restaurant. She went on stage and played the guqin. It was like watching a little fairy. Her guqin skills are top-notch too.”
Chen Ruohan looked up and responded, “She looks like a little fairy even when she’s not playing the guqin. And she doesn’t talk much, I don’t think I’ve spoken more than ten sentences with her.”
“Same here. I feel like I don’t even dare to speak too loudly around her,” Zhou Ke scratched the back of his head and added.
“But Xiao Chu always likes to order her around,” Chen Ruohan teased.
Everyone turned to look at the person sitting upright at the table. Chu Yuanxun glanced over and replied casually, “You guys can try ordering her around too.”
That tone, that look, so obviously arrogant. There was even a hint of possessiveness in it.
Zhong Jiaqi immediately let out an exasperated laugh and pointed at Chu Yuanxun in mock accusation, “I’m telling you, just as Jian and I finished ordering our food today, he came over and sat down. Tell me, isn’t that infuriating?”
Chen Ruohan and Zhou Ke were both shocked and amused, “That does sound like something Xiao Chu would do.”
“Don’t even think about sneaking off to eat without me,” Chu Yuanxun didn’t even turn around as he carefully folded his letter paper.
Laughter erupted behind him.
Over the past couple of days, they had all noticed Chu Yuanxun’s changes. At first, they found him arrogant and difficult to get along with. He flirted ambiguously with all the female participants, which made them wary of him. But as time went on, they realized that he was genuine and, in a way, quite endearing. Even as fellow men, they couldn’t bring themselves to dislike him.
“The most infuriating part is that I was the one who ended up paying for the meal, and this guy, this bottomless pit, ate enough for two people!” Zhong Jiaqi continued his accusations, then suddenly had a mischievous idea. “Hey, do you guys want to see our little fairy go on a roller coaster?”
Chen Ruohan immediately caught on, rubbing his chin as he considered it seriously, “Hmm… a drop tower wouldn’t be bad either.”
Zhou Ke suppressed a laugh, “Take it easy. I think for Jian, bumper cars are already her limit.”
Chu Yuanxun’s eyelid twitched. He turned back to glance at the three of them and said indifferently, “So, how many letters do you guys think I’ll get today?”
“Shit…”
The three men cursed under their breath.
A few days ago, before Jian Wantong arrived, Chu Yuanxun had received three letters in one day. That was already a massive blow to their male egos. If something like that happened again over the next two days, it would be brutal.
But after that conversation, their letter-writing speed significantly increased.
Once the letters were exchanged, Chu Yuanxun received two—one from Yuan Qingqing and one from Wan Tong.
Chen Ruohan stood on the balcony, staring off into the distance with Maddie’s letter in hand.
Zhou Ke clutched his letter and rolled around in bed.
Zhong Jiaqi looked at Chu Yuanxun with a smile, “The production team better give me some dignity. Even if I don’t get a letter, at least I can still ride the roller coaster.”
“…”
Chu Yuanxun put his letters down and walked straight out of the room.
As he walked down the second-floor corridor, he caught sight of a figure standing hesitantly at the door.
She ran over, clutching three letters in her arms.
She seemed a little anxious, her eyes carrying a trace of worry.
His expression softened slightly, and his voice instinctively dropped to a deep and reassuring tone.
“Don’t be scared. I’m with you.”
The words Jian Wan Tong had been about to say, along with her worries, all dissipated because of that one sentence.
“Okay.”
A set of footsteps interrupted them. Yuan Qingqing stepped out of her room and looked straight at Chu Yuanxun, “Yuanxun, can we talk?”
Chu Yuanxun didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he first glanced at Wan Tong, his dark, quiet eyes reflecting her image clearly.
Naturally, Wantong couldn’t say anything, “You two talk, I’ll head back to my room.”
After retreating to her room, she peeked out again—Chu Yuanxun and Yuan Qingqing seemed to have gone to the activity room.
She closed the door, sat on her bed, and opened all three letters.
From the bold, aggressive handwriting of Zhong Jiaqi, spelling out [Ten-loop Roller Coaster] in large letters, she could feel his sheer malice. Chen Ruohan, on the other hand, probably wrote to her just to join in the fun.
When Maddie came over, Wan Tong spoke first, “I knew it! They’re deliberately messing with me. One picked the roller coaster, the other chose the giant pendulum ride—this is practically murder.”
Maddie chuckled and asked, “What did Chu Yuanxun write?”
Wan Tong cleared her throat and folded the letter back up, “Bumper cars.”
“Oh… that’s actually pretty considerate of him,” Maddie teased, blinking mischievously.
Wan Tong didn’t reply. She only pressed her lips together and smiled.
She didn’t know what exactly Yuan Qingqing and Chu Yuanxun talked about, but when Yuan Qingqing returned, a dark cloud hung over her. She looked utterly defeated, as if she had suffered a heavy blow. It was hard not to pity her.
Seeing this, Wan Tong’s mood improved even more.
The spring sunlight was dazzling, and the air was filled with the fragrance of flowers. Since it was a weekday, the amusement park was still lively, but far less crowded than on weekends.
Ten-loop roller coaster, giant pendulum, bumper cars—Chu Yuanxun accompanied Wan Tong through all of them.
By the time they exited the bumper car arena, Wan Tong’s legs were still weak.
Passing by a cotton candy stall, she noticed how the cotton candy in the hands of the little kids came in all kinds of cute shapes. She nudged Chu Yuanxun, urging him to buy one.
Surprisingly, Chu Yuanxun didn’t like cotton candy.
But he still walked over.
Many parents were lining up to buy for their children, calling them ‘baby’ and ‘darling’ one after another, creating an incredibly lively atmosphere.
Two girls dressed in matching outfits stood in line right in front of Chu Yuanxun. The long-haired girl patted her friend’s shoulder and grinned at the vendor. “My little baby wants a blue one.”
“Got it,” the vendor nodded, then glanced at the tall figure standing behind them—Chu Yuanxun, clearly a head taller than the two girls. He greeted him cheerfully, “Hey, handsome, what about you?”
The two girls turned around together and, upon seeing the stunningly good-looking guy standing behind them, instantly grew excited and a little shy.
Chu Yuanxun tilted his head slightly, glancing at Wan Tongwho was waiting a few steps away. His dark, ink-like eyes gleamed with liveliness. He then looked back at the vendor and said in a deep voice, “My Baby wants a pink one.”
Wan Tong : “…” Her cheeks flushed uncontrollably.
Standing just half a step away, the two girls felt as if that deep, rich voice had dropped straight onto their heads. Overwhelmed, they clung to each other and squealed in excitement.
These two are ridiculously attractive, are they filming some kind of insanely sweet romance drama?
This is way too swoon-worthy!
The vendor chuckled and gave them a knowing look. “Kid, you’ve got game.”
Chu Yuanxun took the cotton candy and walked back to Wan Tong, but she immediately grabbed his hand and pulled him away.
If they stayed any longer, she feared her face might start dripping blood.
The cameras were still rolling, was he really okay flirting so boldly?
After walking a short distance, Chu Yuanxun suddenly held her wrist, signaling her to stop.
Wan Tong panted slightly and turned to look at him. He lowered his head, staring at the cotton candy in his hand, and mumbled,
“The cotton candy got squished.”
Wan Tong looked at the misshapen cotton candy, then back at his slightly sulky tone. She suddenly burst into laughter.
Leaning in, she took a light lick of the cotton candy, and the sweet taste instantly melted on her tongue.
“It’s still delicious!” She looked up at him in surprise.
Chu Yuanxun blinked slightly and then moved the cotton candy closer to himself. Wan Tong followed, leaning in for another small bite.
Her smile, like the cotton candy, bloomed and melted in the breeze.
Chu Yuanxun wasn’t sure whether to focus on the pink, fluffy cotton candy or the sweet, radiant smile before him.
His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he lowered his head and took a bite of the cotton candy.
Wan Tong froze for a moment. Through the now slightly flattened cotton candy, weren’t they way too close?
She quickly pulled back, putting some distance between them.
Seeing how he had practically buried his face into the cotton candy, she couldn’t help but laugh again. “Didn’t you say you don’t like cotton candy?”
Chu Yuanxun hummed lightly, slowly swallowing the sugary fluff in his mouth. “Tongtong, it’s very sweet.”
The cotton candy itself wasn’t anything special, but he felt like this taste would be imprinted in his memory forever.
And when Wan Tong heard him call her name in such a deep, affectionate tone, she hastily averted her gaze, her heart fluttering.
