The Boss’ White Moonlight is Resurrected – Chapter 111

In the small one-room rented apartment, the tall Geng Yue sat on a small stool, creating a somewhat comical scene.

However, there was no other choice. Wan Tong sat on the bed opposite, and she only had a cheap little stool priced at 9.9 yuan that she moved for him to sit on.

“Why did you come back from your hometown?” Wan Tong hadn’t fully recovered from the hug just now, and her mind was still a bit hazy.

“I missed you.” Geng Yue’s gaze fell on her face, and he softly spoke the words in his heart.

When he was at home, he couldn’t stop thinking about her, wondering if she would feel lonely celebrating the New Year alone.

His parents also noticed his distracted state, so he decided to come back.

Wan Tong pursed her lips, blushing again. Oh, this boss was too skilled.

She glanced out of the window, and the fireworks were over, and the surroundings were gradually quieting down.

“Geng Yue, shouldn’t you go back? It’s very late.”

“I’m not going back.”

“!!!”

“Promise to be my girlfriend, okay?” Geng Yue almost used all his strength to say these words.

Wan Tong shook her head.

In this world, there were two Raiders. She wasn’t sure if Zhong Yuheng could kill people, but she believed Hu Yanting definitely would!

The atmosphere in the room suddenly froze.

Geng Yue stared at her without blinking, and the dark, surging mood in his eyes made Wan Tong feel uneasy, making her swallow nervously.

In an instant, Geng Yue restrained his emotions and stood up.

Wan Tong awkwardly stood up too. She felt like he might pounce on her at any moment, tearing her apart. Her blood boiled, unsure if it was due to excitement or danger.

“Then you can’t have another boyfriend. Can you promise that?” Geng Yue’s palm gently rested on her shoulder, and his thumb lightly stroked the sensitive area near her shoulder, causing a tingling sensation.

Wan Tong felt her scalp tingling. “But this is my own business…”

“It used to be your business. But since you provoked me, it’s my business now.”

“I didn’t provoke you.” Wan Tong defended herself. It was obviously him who came over that day carrying fruit to provoke her.

Didn’t she even drive him away?

“Yes, you did.” Two words overflowed from Geng Yue’s lips, and his gaze became hot again.

She remembered his name. When she looked at him, her gaze was beautiful, as if she had a lot to say.

Wan Tong : “…”

In the end, Wan Tong agreed.

Otherwise, Geng Yue might really stay overnight.

Wan Tong only had a three-day break, and after the break, she accompanied Lin Ruoruo to various shoots, mostly staying on the set.

It was said that Hu Yanting’s listed company headquarters had been reported, and he was summoned by government departments. Occasionally, he would let Wan Tong handle some documents directly.

Seeing him busy and exhausted, Wan Tong, despite everything, cared about his health, telling him to rest well. As a result, he collapsed and ended up in the hospital with a saline drip…

On the other hand, the boyband Stone was developing rapidly, and Geng Yue has started his own company with his college roommates, managing both his career and the company.

Wan Tong basically won’t be returning to school next semester. Lin Ruoruo heavily relies on her, not only for accompanying announcements but eventually extending to accompanying meals and drinks and endless chatting!

Wan Tong really wants to firmly refuse, but Lin Ruoruo flipping her hair and and throwing money is just too attractive that Wan Tong couldn’t help but compromise (for the money).

She vacates the rental apartment in the urban village and moves into Lin Ruoruo’s villa, completely falling into the role of an agent who eats soft rice1.

Of course, even though Wan Tong is now well-off, she still has to work on her thesis.

Lin Ruoruo is too noisy, so sometimes Wan Tong goes to the school library and spend the whole day there.

Hu Yanting somehow learned about her writing a thesis and gave her a few days off, temporarily assigning Zhang Liaoran to personally take care of Lin Ruoruo.

Wan Tong is eager for a break, so she gladly accepts.

However, even in school, she can’t always have a quiet time. Now she’s also a well-known senior in the school.

Being good-looking is one thing, but the most important thing is that she has had nine boyfriends, none lasting more than five days. It’s said that her ex-boyfriends even publicly claimed that she’s a jinx.

Her roommates and classmates also came forward, saying that bad luck comes when they’re close to her.

So, when Wan Tong is in the library, no one dares to sit with her, fearing that they’ll be unlucky and won’t pass their thesis defense.

In the afternoon, Wan Tong leaves the library with her laptop, only to meet three girls at the door.

It happens to be her roommates whom she hasn’t spent much time with before.

They used to be plain-faced, but due to internships, they’ve learned to wear makeup and now look more mature and confident. Surprisingly, they dare to strike up a conversation with Wan Tong.

“Jin Wantong, heard you became someone’s agent?”

“Yeah, any problem?” Wan Tong looks at them. Due to her previous obsession with making money, she couldn’t match their names to faces, she only remembered the one who spoke was the occupant of Bed C.

Roommate C2 smiles, “Nothing, just curious. It seems like you’re the only one in our class in a non-major-related field.”

Roommate A couldn’t help but speak up, “Yeah, your academic performance is so good, I thought you’d become a translator. Didn’t expect this result…”

Roommate D says, “Wan Tong, is the artist you’re managing an internet celebrity? I haven’t heard of her. Haven’t you been an agent for more than two months? Do you only have one artist?”

Roommate C adds, “Being an agent seems fun. You must get to meet many big stars, right? Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with domestic celebrities…”

Listening to the sarcastic or boastful tones, Wan Tong finds it amusing. College students are really still simple.

She takes out a set of car keys from her bag, sighs, and says, “I only have one artist, just for fun. But I plan to buy a house after graduation. I remember one of you has a relative in real estate, right? Can you introduce me to them? I want to get to know and understand before buying. I’m not afraid of being cheated. By the way, when do you plan to buy? Want to look at houses together? Any recommendations for a decorator? Do you have one?”

The three girls opposite were all dumbfounded, especially when they saw the logo on her car key. Their faces froze with smiles.

They all came from ordinary backgrounds, at most, as locals, they didn’t worry about household registration. However, the idea of buying a car or a house had never crossed their minds!

Where did Jin Wantong get so much money? How could she afford to buy a car and a house so quickly?

She must be kept by someone, looking the way she does, and being in such a chaotic entertainment industry, she must have found a sugar daddy!

With this thought, they found solace in their hearts.

Roommate C : “Being good-looking is really different. People will give you as much money as you want.”

Roommate D : “That’s true…”

Roommate A : “But Wantong, your bad luck should still be there, right? Artists who don’t fear bringing calamity upon themselves, and… a sugar daddy?”

As the last two words were uttered, a hint of satisfaction appeared on the faces of the three girls.

“Tsk.” Wan Tong glanced at them, smiled ambiguously, and tugged at the corner of her mouth. “Don’t you find your words disgusting? S University hasn’t purified your minds in four years?”

Most people tend to speculate about others with the worst intentions, and she didn’t find it strange.

The three girls were stunned, their faces somewhat pale. “If you dare to do it, aren’t you afraid of what others might say? Otherwise, where would suddenly so much money come from for a normal person?”

Looking at the onlookers, Wan Tong didn’t want to waste more time. She smiled warmly at the three of them, eager to shake their hands. “It can only mean that I’m not a normal person. You think making money is difficult, but some people can make money without even lifting a finger. As for how, I’ll share it with you later, my dear roommates. I have to go now.”

Looking at Wan Tong’s smile, the three felt a chill. The last time she smiled like this, they all failed their exams.

Wan Tong originally planned to have lunch at the school cafeteria, but after what just happened, her mood was affected, so she decided to go back to the company first.

As soon as she got in the car, a figure opened the passenger door and got in.

“You—Geng Yue?” Wan Tong exclaimed.

Geng Yue took off his hat but still wore a mask. He glanced over and muttered, “Find a place to sit.”

“But… aren’t you participating in a music festival abroad?” Wan Tong said as she started the car.

“It’s over. I came back early.” Upon returning to China, he heard that she had been coming to the library these days. As soon as he landed, he took a taxi here himself.

He didn’t mention these things. Leaning against the seat, he tilted his head slightly and stared at Wan Tong.

When leaving, Wan Tong saw the anxious figures of his agent and Zhong Yuheng.

“Don’t you need to tell them?” she asked.

Geng Yue handed her the phone. “You tell them for me.”

Wan Tong : “…”

Geng Yue guessed she would react like this, so he quickly took the phone back.

“What happened at the library?” Geng Yue asked.

He vaguely heard others talking about it, but he didn’t see it with his own eyes.

“It’s okay, just met my roommates.” Wan Tong focused on driving and casually responded.

Geng Yue lowered his head to glance at the vibrating phone.

Lin Congying was sending tons of messages in the dormitory group.

[Jin Wantong is bullied by her roommates!]

[Jin Wantong made a lot of money!]

[Jin Wantong’s three roommates accidentally tripped on the stairs and tumbled into a pile!]

[Jin Wantong is really carrying bad luck!]

Geng Yue looked at the words ‘bad luck,’ squinted his eyes, and suddenly asked, “Have your nine ex-boyfriends helped you find the answer?”

Wan Tong didn’t immediately react to his random words, “What?”

“When you have a boyfriend, he will encounter accidents. Do you believe that?” Geng Yue suddenly unfastened his seatbelt, leaned forward, and slowly took off his mask.

Good-looking people, no matter what they do, seem like scenes from a beautiful movie.

Wan Tong swallowed hard, gripping the steering wheel with both hands, “What are you doing? Fasten your seatbelt.”

“If you don’t believe it, why are you unwilling to date again?” Geng Yue spoke, whether intentionally or unintentionally, his breath brushed against her cheek.

“I don’t want to date anymore.” Wan Tong took a deep breath, stared ahead, and refused to look at him, “And, I promised you, didn’t I?”

She always felt that the boss wanted to continue causing trouble.

rokumi’s note : Sorry, I suddenly got so busy irl and couldn’t spare enough time to translate last week (and I didn’t have stocked chapters). To make it up, I’ll post double updates this week.

  1. “someone who eats soft rice” is basically a “kept boy,” it’s negative connotation for a man (usually younger) who lives off a woman (usually successful woman); but in the context here is used as a joke ↩︎
  2. raw directly gave her the nickname that literally means ‘Bed C’ but I think that sounds strangely ambiguous so I changed it to Roommate C ↩︎

  1. It’s so funny seeing her boss getting so lucky and receiving multiple free trips to the hospital 🤣
Rou² unknowingly getting herself a lucky charm and seeing three classmates who just can’t help themselves and decided to be cannon fodders just for a bit of screen time
