“Exciting, my a*s!” Tian Lingxue showed no mercy as she hurled the books in her arms at Owen.
“Hey, woman, don’t go overboard—”
“Then stop spewing bullsh*t!”
Once again, the two strong-willed individuals launched into battle. Who even knew what round this was? Bai Tang didn’t even bother trying to stop them anymore—after all, neither of them would get hurt.
But… Bai Tang secretly stole a glance at Hudson, who was correcting his practice problems.
Hudson… could it be that he also liked Tian Lingxue?!
They say that people in love are fools, always overthinking things. And considering a squirrel’s brain wasn’t that big to begin with… Bai Tang had been watching Tian Lingxue and Owen bicker these past few days, while she and Hudson got along very well. They chatted and laughed together, and Hudson was always patient when answering her endless questions—even going out of his way to help her, entirely of his own accord.
“Tang Tang, stop overthinking. As long as the male and female leads aren’t together by the graduation ball, our mission will be complete. After that, I’ll take you out of this world and treat you to delicious food. The next world has lots of good food~” The system seized the opportunity to chip away at Bai Tang’s feelings for the male lead.
“What a vulgar woman—can’t win with words, so she resorts to violence,” Owen muttered as he straightened his clothes. Taking advantage of Bai Tang’s distraction, he scooted over, looking for comfort. “Tang Tang is still the best. With you being this fierce, I’d be surprised if Hudson actually liked you…”
Bai Tang turned his face away and flicked Owen’s hand off, letting out a barely audible huff.
“Oh no, even you don’t want me anymore, Xiao Tang Tang?” Owen clutched his chest dramatically, striking a pose of feigned heartbreak. With his handsome face, it was quite the sight—a good-looking man pulling off a comedic act.
Unfortunately, not a single person in the room was buying it.
Seeing Bai Tang’s expression darken, Tian Lingxue rolled up her sleeves and twisted Owen’s ear.
“Ow, ow, ow—!”
After putting Owen in his place, Tian Lingxue threw an arm around Bai Tang’s shoulders and whispered, “Tang Tang, how far have you and Hudson gotten?”
“Huh? Nothing… I don’t know what you’re talking about…” Bai Tang mumbled softly, but the blush spreading across his cheeks completely betrayed him.
“Hmm~ Hudson does seem to take really good care of you~” Tian Lingxue teased, taking the indirect approach.
Speaking of Hudson’s so-called “care”, Bai Tang couldn’t withstand Tian Lingxue’s persistent questioning.
“Yeah… Hudson is really nice. I’m afraid of the dark at night, so he always sleeps with me.”
Tian Lingxue clenched her teeth at his words, then reached out to pat Bai Tang’s head. “Next time you’re scared, you can call me, Tang Tang. I’ll talk to you until you’re not afraid anymore.”
D*mn it! They haven’t even made their relationship official, and he’s already pushing his luck? Taking advantage, huh?
Tian Lingxue turned her head slightly, narrowing her eyes. A brilliant plan was already forming in her mind.
Rumors about the campus prince, Hudson, dating someone spread like wildfire.
The once-distant and unattainable Hudson had suddenly been sticking around an Eastern girl for months now—and shockingly, she hadn’t been chased away yet. On top of that, Owen was constantly by her side, guarding her like a knight, and even Hudson’s closest friends had acknowledged her. How could she have such insane luck?
Of course, all these rumors eventually reached Bai Tang’s ears. At first, he tried to argue against them, defending Hudson and Tian Lingxue. But after hearing multiple passersby list out examples and logic to prove their point—combined with Hudson’s considerate attitude toward Tian Lingxue—Bai Tang quickly lost his enthusiasm. Maybe… maybe they were right after all.
Naturally, these rumors weren’t spread by Tian Lingxue herself. When she first heard them, she was just as shocked. However, the news had drawn out quite a few jealous girls who now lurked around the school hallways, waiting for a chance to start trouble with her.
Luckily, Owen would always escort her back to her dorm, claiming it was for Bai Tang’s sake. As a result, those girls never got the opportunity to act.
Fighting was strictly forbidden inside the dormitory buildings—anyone caught would receive a disciplinary record. Tian Lingxue took full advantage of this rule, bouncing around campus happily for half a month under the envious, jealous, and resentful stares of others.
That day, Bai Tang lay slumped on his desk, listlessly chatting with the system.

“Tang Tang, let’s go to the amusement park!” The female lead’s eyes lit up with joy, her voice brimming with excitement.
