Chapter 7 – Mr. Fu, you can handle it!
Assistant Chen has been by Mr. Fu’s side for six or seven years, and has seen all kinds of storms. But now, he was stunned by this scene and didn’t know what to do.
Mr. Fu’s usual attitude towards people is so cold, and now the visual impact on Assistant Chen is huge.
He didn’t want to be the one between Mr. Fu and Ruan Xia, so he silently took a few steps back and turned around.
This scene is probably not something Mr. Fu wants him to see.
Ruan Xia’s voice became smaller, “Hubby, now that Assistant Chen has gone back, it’s just the two of us.”
Fu Cheng’an let go of Ruan Xia’s arm, but as soon as he did, she stumbled and leaned into his arms again. Fu Cheng’an had no choice but to support her shoulders.
Fu Cheng’an: “This is the office.”
Ruan Xia’s lips curled slightly, and she retreated to the side, saying, “Okay, Mr. Fu.”
The way Ruan Xia called him “Mr. Fu” carried deeper implications that Fu Cheng’an could sense. She called him “Mr. Fu,” but it seemed like it wasn’t just “Mr. Fu.”
When Fu Cheng’an entered the office, Ruan Xia brazenly followed him in. She was interested in the office of the novel’s male lead. Since she started working there today, she could only look at the door of Fu Cheng’an’s office. She had a feeling that it was very high-end.
Like what Ruan Xia expected, Fu Cheng’an’s office is as cold and aloof as he is, with the decoration almost entirely in black, white, and gray.
Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of Fu Cheng’an’s office, Ruan Xia can’t help but be amazed by the bustling city outside, which seems to capture all the prosperity of Yanjing.
Amidst the glittering lights, Ruan Xia finally manages to make out the place where she attends her classes, and she points it out to Fu Cheng’an. “Look, Mr. Fu, that’s where I attend classes. I may have to ask you for a leave next time I have class on a weekday.”
Fu Cheng’an replies, “Just tell Assistant Chen directly.” He takes something out of his drawer and adds, “I’ll send you back.”
Ruan Xia says with a whine, “Aww, Hubby, you still love me after all.”
Fu Cheng’an rubbed his temples. He still has to deal with some matters in the company. He asked Ruan Xia, “Are you tired today? It’s already past nine o’clock. If you’re tired, you can take a day off tomorrow after eating and washing up before going to bed. It’ll probably be midnight by then.”
Ruan Xia didn’t say anything, but suddenly smiled brightly, “Hubby, you’re really kind.”
Fu Cheng’an felt a little guilty and turned his gaze away before walking ahead with long strides without answering Ruan Xia’s words.
Ruan Xia took off her pearl hairpin and threw it under Fu Cheng’an’s desk before following him.
Jiangyue Palace was developed by Fu Corporation, and Fu Cheng’an kept a unit for himself, which was the one Ruan Xia was currently living in. The apartment had been empty all along until Ruan Xia moved in.
Cars are not allowed in the community. If you want to drive into the community, you have to park in the underground garage. After driving into the garage, Ruan Xia refused to get out of the car.
The radio was still tuned to the finance channel, but Ruan Xia spoke in a low voice, and Fu Cheng’an could barely hear her even when he listened carefully.
Ruan Xia tugged at her seatbelt. “I don’t know the way.” She drooped her shoulders, “I’m a road idiot.”
There was nothing wrong with this. It was written in the script that she was directionally challenged.
Ruan Xia : “Hubby, have you forgotten?”
Ruan Xia unfastened her seatbelt by herself and got out of the car, then slowly walked to the opposite direction.
The clothes she was wearing now were the same ones she had sent to Fu Cheng’an in a photo yesterday. He didn’t deliberately remember it, but he had a good memory.
As she walked, her skirt swayed slightly, making her look pitiful.
Fu Cheng’an opened the car door and stepped out, his long legs took big strides and caught up with her in just a few steps.
Fu Cheng’an : “Wrong way, I’ll take you up.”
Since Ruan Xia got off the car until now, she has counted to twenty in her mind.
Aunt Sun’s job is simple, but she is dedicated. Since Ruan Xia started working, she takes care of her according to Ruan Xia’s working hours.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Aunt Sun went to the door. As a result, the first person she saw standing behind Ruan Xia was Fu Cheng’an.
Aunt Sun : “Mr. Fu?”
Fu Cheng’an replied with an “En” and explained, “She forgot to clock out.”
Aunt Sun : “Mr. Fu, do you want to have dinner here? The ingredients are ready.”
Fu Cheng’an declined, “No need, I still have work to do.”
As for Ruan Xia, she lay comfortably on the sofa. Being a secretary is not an easy job, especially sitting in the office for a long time can be exhausting.
Stretching her limbs, Ruan Xia planned to take a shower first.
Aunt Sun : “Miss Ruan, I think I was wrong.”
Ruan Xia : “Hmm, what do you mean?”
Aunt Sun felt like her understanding of things had been overturned. “The concept of being a love-brain also varies in different levels. Like you, for example, it’s obvious that you’re better than my son, and you even managed to get Mr. Fu to send you back.”
Ruan Xia : “Maybe Mr. Fu is just a soft-hearted person, and my sincerity moved him again.”
Aunt Sun : ?
What was she talking about? Mr. Fu was not a soft-hearted person, Ruan Xia might have misunderstood him. In fact, he was quite ruthless at times.
Aunt Sun : “No, no, no, Miss Ruan. It must be your beauty and sincerity that softened Mr. Fu’s heart.”
Hearing the words “beauty”, Ruan Xia nodded in agreement. As for “sincerity”, she could ignore it for now as it was not that important. What was important was the former.
Fu Cheng’an drove the car out of the underground garage when Zhou Yu’s call came in.
Zhou Yu : “Brother Fu, how much longer until you arrive?”
Fu Cheng’an : “Probably about an hour or so.”
Zhou Yu laughed, he knew that Fu Cheng’an was busy with work, but he was a punctual person. So, what was he doing just now?
Oh, is it because of his wife again?
Zhou Yu asked, “How is that Miss Ruan doing today? Did she remember anything?”
Fu Cheng’an replied in a flat tone, “Why don’t you ask her?”
Zhou Yu quickly said, “No, no, I was wrong. I was wrong.”
The dinner party this time was because Zhou Yu didn’t attend the opening of Fu Cheng’an’s villa last time. Except for Zhou Yu’s addition, the same people came, and everyone was very familiar with each other.
Except for Zhou Yu, nobody knew about the matter of Fu Cheng’an and Ruan Xia, and Zhou Yu didn’t gossip about it with others.
Fu Cheng’an seldom drinks alcohol, and this time was no exception. However, there was a problem during the dinner, because of Zhou Zhiyuan.
Zhou Zhiyuan was originally joking around with everyone, but suddenly he burst into tears. Everyone knew what had happened because they were all well-informed. Zhou Zhiyuan’s ex-girlfriend was getting married.
Fu Cheng’an didn’t know how to comfort his childhood friend, so he could only drink with him.
At the end of the dinner, Zhou Zhiyuan patted the seemingly sober Fu Cheng’an on the shoulder, feeling extremely uncomfortable. “It’s good that she’s getting married and finding the right person. I’m happy for her. If she followed me, I would feel unworthy for her. How could there be a chance to turn back after hurting others? “
“Brother Fu, you have to think carefully before doing anything. There is no regret medicine in this world. If you don’t love someone, you just don’t love them,” Zhou Zhiyuan said while looking into Fu Cheng’an’s eyes.
Zhou Zhiyuan suddenly became sober when he saw Fu Cheng’an’s eyes, “Forget it, what do you know? You are emotionally closed off and no woman can enter your heart. What do you know about love or not?”
Even though he had been drinking, Fu Cheng’an was still very rational, “Love is mostly based on appearance or weighing the pros and cons. For someone like you who has no chance of redemption, there may be emotions or possessiveness. Just calm down.”
Zhou Zhiyuan turned around and looked at Zhou Yu, “I won’t talk to him anymore. He only believes that money can solve problems and that he only has trust in work!”
After watching Zhou Zhiyuan get into his car and ride back home, because the two lived very close to each other, Zhou Yu rode home together with Fu Cheng’an.
Before going to sleep, Ruan Xia propped her slender legs against the wall and surfed the internet on her phone, but she still had to get to bed early tonight to avoid having dark circles under her eyes the next day.
Thinking back to the person who started all of this, Ruan Xia felt that things should be fair, especially when it came to looking at her own legs.
Ruan Xia took a photo of her legs with her phone and sent it to Fu Cheng’an.
[Ruan Xia : Sob sob sob, Hubby, my leg is injured.]
[Ruan Xia : It hurts so much, I can’t sleep.]
[Ruan Xia : If I have a scar, would you still love me?]
Ruan Xia’s leg injury was also partly caused by Fu Cheng’an. When she saw Fu Cheng’an, she hurriedly stood up from her desk, then her leg hit the table.
Ruan Xia sent a voice message, “I don’t want to have a scar.”
She felt so wronged, so delicate, and in need of comfort.
Ruan Xia’s leg won’t actually leave a scar. If it really were going to leave a scar, it wouldn’t be up to her to send a message to Fu Cheng’an. Even without sending him the pictures, the wound on Ruan Xia’s leg would have already healed.
The Rolls-Royce was driving smoothly on the road, and Fu Cheng’an, who was originally resting his eyes, suddenly heard his phone ring several times. Without thinking, he knew who would be sending so many messages all at once.
After a few seconds, Fu Cheng’an opened his eyes and checked the messages on his phone.
Apparently, Ruan Xia felt that words and voice messages were not enough to express her current feelings, so she also sent him emojis asking for a kiss to make it better.
Fu Cheng’an’s Adam’s apple moved slightly.
[Fu Cheng’an : It won’t leave a scar.]
But of course, Ruan Xia wouldn’t let this opportunity slip by.
[Ruan Xia: It’s all because I was so happy to see you that I bumped into the table.]
Yes, it’s your fault, your fault, all your fault!
Fu Cheng’an looked up and saw Zhou Yu’s teasing expression next to him.
Zhou Yu : “Poor Zhou Zhiyuan, he’s really having a hard time!”
Telling Zhou Zhiyuan that even his love is just an emotion, then turning around and telling the little girl that she won’t leave a scar.
On the phone screen, there’s also a photo of Ruan Xia’s leg. Fu Cheng’an frowned and put away the phone, his voice cold, “Wasn’t it your suggestion to cooperate with her, what’s the problem? Or do you have a new suggestion?”
At first, Zhou Yu felt a bit comforted by the reply, but now it seems that he doesn’t feel that way anymore, probably because Fu Cheng’an’s personality gives him a different feeling?
Well, of course, how could Fu Cheng’an be the same as Zhou Zhiyuan? When faced with lovely and a beautiful girl calling him “Hubby” or “Mr. Fu”, Fu Cheng’an can handle it!
