The girl under Jun Yulin was dressed in an inner robe made of white brocade, faintly embroidered with auspicious cloud patterns in off-white silk thread.
Her phoenix eyes were wide open in shock, tinged with a trace of fatigue. Her black ink-like hair spilled behind her, spreading across the bed, further accentuating her delicate features.
She was bright and flamboyant. Now stripped of her dragon robe, she gave off a different kind of allure.
“Royal Uncle, what is the meaning of this?”
Clearly angered, Yan Luo’s tone dropped slightly.
The original owner was an emperor. No matter how much she liked the man before her, she was proud to the bone. She had always wanted to be a competent ruler. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have pushed herself so harshly, demanding such rapid growth from herself.
Jun Yulin’s current behavior was simply outrageous.
As if only now realizing it, Jun Yulin furrowed his brows slightly and stood up with a cold and composed expression. He watched as Yan Luo, who had finally regained her freedom and fresh air, propped herself up, straightened her clothes, and stretched her wrists.
Sitting rather ungracefully on the edge of the bed, with her eyes still holding a hint of irritation and impatience, it made her look a little… cute.
After thinking for just a moment, Jun Yulin understood what had happened yesterday.
He couldn’t handle alcohol. Once he drank, troubles tended to happen. He was told that he would mutter strange things or act on his desires.
Though he had tried to hold on long enough to order someone to send him back, the alcohol must have gotten to him. He ended up coming back himself, and went straight into this little girl’s chambers.
Now that he understood the cause and effect, Jun Yulin adjusted his clothes as well. It was still early outside, and the palace maid responsible for waking Yan Luo wouldn’t arrive just yet, so there was still time.
He sat down on a chair nearby and spoke solemnly, “Your Majesty.”
“Hmm?” Yan Luo had just started feeling comfortable again, nearly ready to roll around in the blankets with joy. When she heard Jun Yulin’s voice, she instinctively looked up at him, eyes filled with suspicion.
“I cannot drink alcohol,” Jun Yulin said seriously when he noticed her gaze.
“I… now I know,” Yan Luo’s face darkened again as she spoke through slightly gritted teeth.
“It was because of Your Majesty that I accidentally drank yesterday. If I did anything inappropriate or offensive, I ask Your Majesty not to take offense.” As he said this, his tone seemed to lift ever so slightly.
As if he were in a good mood, although his expression remained unreadable.

Yan Luo: …So it’s still my fault?! He just said he liked me, and now he’s flipping the script already?
So frustrating.
After lowering her head and thinking for a long while, Yan Luo finally asked, “Then may Royal Uncle now leave my bedchamber?”
Naturally, it was time for him to leave. He also needed to change his clothes.
As for last night… Jun Yulin sighed inwardly. He was quite satisfied.
Whether it was because he had pressed against her all night or not, his clothes, apart from the lingering scent of wine from the banquet, still faintly carried the girl’s fragrance.
It smelled very pleasant. His fingers involuntarily twitched slightly. Whatever he had thought of in that moment, his eyes darkened a little. Then, he opened the window of Yan Luo’s sleeping quarters, glanced outside, and vanished with a flicker.
He was finally gone.
Yan Luo let out a sigh of relief, her tense heart finally settling. She whimpered twice and buried herself back into the blankets for more sleep.
But less than a quarter of an hour later, Lin Yuan came to wake her up.
It was time for the morning court.
With a heavy dose of morning grumpiness, Yan Luo sat on the dragon throne, looking thoroughly resentful as she listened to the bickering below.
