Mu Ci’s lips curled into a mocking smile as he coldly lifted them slightly.
The woman before him might as well have written the words ‘I have ulterior motives’ on her face.
Especially when she passed by Yan Luo, he had clearly seen the sudden shift in her expression. Who did she think she was? Where did she get the audacity to believe she could compare to Yan Luo?

For a moment, the classroom fell into an eerie silence.
The homeroom teacher quickly stepped in to smooth things over, rearranging the seating to ease the awkwardness.
Wang Shi ended up sitting some distance away from Mu Ci. She pressed her lips together slightly, glancing first at Yan Luo, then at Mu Ci, before finally taking out her textbook and focusing on class.
Yan Luo found the situation strange but didn’t bother engaging with Wang Shi. Instead, she treated her presence as nonexistent and concentrated on taking notes.
After class, Yan Luo got up and glanced toward the back of the room. Mu Ci was still sleeping, completely alone in his corner, his head down, only the back of his head was visible.
From this angle… he actually looked kind of cute.
Yan Luo pursed her lips in a reserved manner. The original owner wasn’t fond of interacting with strangers, so Yan Luo quietly exited through a less crowded side passage.
By the time the next class was about to start, Yan Luo returned to the classroom and immediately noticed Wang Shi at her seat, surrounded by a group of students.
Her face carried a warm and appropriate smile, making her seem especially approachable. Several classmates were gathered around, listening to her speak about something.
Meanwhile, Feng Tang, likely exhausted from the previous day, was lightly dozing at her desk.
Yan Luo glanced in Feng Tang’s direction before carefully picking up a book from her own desk and leaning against Feng Tang’s table to read.
When the bell rang, Feng Tang groggily lifted her head—only to see a petite girl, as delicate as a porcelain doll, leaning quietly against her desk, completely absorbed in her book.
Their seats were by the window, where soft sunlight streamed in, casting a faint shadow over Yan Luo’s face. The light highlighted strands of her hair and a portion of her fair skin with a golden hue, subtly revealing the fine, soft fuzz on her cheeks.
Feng Tang glanced at Wang Shi, who was beaming brightly while chatting with the group, then back at the quiet and composed Yan Luo. A small smile tugged at her lips, and a gentle warmth filled her heart.
She quickly sat up. “Class is starting, you should go back to your seat.”
Yan Luo nodded and returned to her desk without a word, picking up her pen to highlight key points for the next lesson.
Staring at the scribbles and complex symbols on the page, her face remained calm, but internally, she was complaining: “I’m already so old, yet I still have to study this stuff.”
Despite her internal complaints, she diligently continued writing. Her pen moved smoothly across the page, as if the difficult questions had already been solved in her mind, with every step of the process neatly laid out.
Thankfully, she had received a skill from Little Pink in the previous world. If she could handle advanced scientific research there, then these high school problems were nothing.
