As Fang Shi leaned back in the chair, the phone in his pocket vibrating incessantly from earlier.
Taking it out, he glanced at the screen casually. His eyes darkened.
The corners of his lips slowly curled into a cold smile as he typed a few lines, then tossed the phone aside and launched his game and livestream.
Yan Luo was already online. Fang Shi greeted the viewers briefly before diving into their usual sweet and affectionate duo queue routine.
But after what had happened before, the flood of malicious comments spreading rapidly suddenly brought a wave of haters into the livestream mid-session. They spammed insults, filled the screen, and overwhelmed the moderators trying to block them.
Fang Shi’s expression darkened. The Fang family had figured out that Yan Luo was his weak spot. Instead of just stirring trouble for him, they focused most of their attacks on Yan Luo, throwing around disgusting insults.
Yan Luo, however, remained unusually calm. Fang Shi pressed his lips together, unsure if she had seen the comments or not.
Yet, his fingers slowly clenched, his eyes turning colder.
Neither of them acknowledged the hate. Fang Shi ended the stream early, then went over to Yan Luo’s place to have a late-night snack together, finally calming down.
The next morning, unlike his usual habit of sticking close to Yan Luo, he only joined her for breakfast before saying he had other things to do today.
Watching her wave him off without hesitation as she headed toward school, the smile on Fang Shi’s lips gradually faded. He put on his headphones, turned the volume up high, but even the blaring music couldn’t drown out the restlessness inside him.
He strode toward his car.
It had been a long time since Fang Shi last returned to Fang family’s mansion. The young man, dressed in simple sportswear and wearing white earbuds, stepped into the house.
His casual style starkly contrasted with the suited men sitting in the grand hall. Yet, his arrival instantly tensed the atmosphere.
None of them moved.
Fang Shi, however, simply chewed his gum, tilting his head slightly as he surveyed the room full of people. He blew a bubble, popped it, chewed a little more, then chuckled.
“Well, what’s the occasion? Everyone’s here.”
It was a blatant provocation.
The middle-aged man on the sofa, who bore a faint resemblance to Fang Shi, clenched his fists. He straightened slightly before shrinking back again.
That display of anger suppressed by fear made Fang Shi laugh out loud. His lips curved in a smile, but his eyes were cold.
“Shi’er…”
An elderly voice came from the staircase.
Old Master Fang descended from the second floor, sighing at the scene in the hall.
Looking at the young man in his casual attire, earphones in, lips curled in a careless smirk—he seemed like an indifferent troublemaker.
