“Captain, this place used to be a lab, right? Feels creepy as hell. Wasn’t there a whole army stationed here before they got wiped out? How come we haven’t seen a single zombie?”
A soldier in the car gripped their gun tightly, licking their cracked lips in confusion.
“The more unusual something is, the more dangerous it tends to be,” a short-haired woman responded, scanning the surroundings warily. “Stay on high alert.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
At this moment, Yan Luo had changed into a new outfit. A slightly oversized pink plaid shirt concealed her delicate curves, while loose denim shorts revealed her fair, slender legs.
Her hair hung loosely, her lips slightly pouting, giving her a soft and adorable appearance. However, her actions starkly contrasted with her innocent look.
She held a tin can, who knows where she got it from, walking along and muttering under her breath. With each step, she extended her index finger and casually poked at the can.
Her movements were gentle, like a sulking little girl. But each poke left a hole.
She was definitely upset, and not the kind that could be soothed easily.
Yan Che, strolling leisurely behind her, watched her antics and couldn’t help but smile. He quickened his pace, coming up beside her, his voice teasing yet helpless.
“I even dressed up like this for you. Still mad?”
Yan Luo glanced at him sideways.
The so-called ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ had changed out of his usual white dress shirt, suit pants, and lab coat without resistance, letting her pick out hip-hop-style clothes for him.
His bangs fell slightly over his forehead, and behind the gold-rimmed glasses, his handsome face carried an air of refined elegance. Yet, the slightly exaggerated colors and design of his outfit didn’t look out of place on him at all.
On the contrary, the usual warmth in his demeanor now carried a hint of roguish charm.
Smirking mischievously, he trailed behind her, his gaze sweeping over her.
And that’s exactly why she was mad—because he looked way too comfortable in those ridiculous outfit.
Yan Luo huffed lightly and turned away without answering. With a sharp jab, her finger pierced the tin can once more. This time, she hit the fruit inside, and sticky syrup clung to her fingertips.
Just then, the sound of a car engine roared ahead.
Yan Che looked up, unsurprised, but before he could react, the little troublemaker beside him seized the opportunity—smearing her syrup-covered fingers all over his clothes.
