Chapter 160 – Master, do you choose to die or to perish? (1)

Don’t be kind to others, because I won’t be able to stand it.

Returning to the system space, Yan Luo looked at the points that had risen to 55 and let out a small sigh of relief.

The last period of time was indeed very troublesome. She was unable to move, unable to speak, and her frail body harshly restrained her, making it a struggle even to move slightly.

[You’ve worked hard, Dear Host. Do you want to take a break?]

Even though she had powerful ability, she should still be feeling a bit tired after so many times of traveling across dimensions, right?

A glimmer of darkness passed through Yan Luo’s eyes as she stretched lazily, blinking her eyes. “I am a bit tired, Pink Pit. I’ve decided that this will be your nickname from now on, because I have a feeling the next dimension will still be full of pits. Let me prepare myself mentally.”

Pink Pit? Nickname?

Little Pink : […]

😏

[Dear host, you don’t look tired at all~ We need to keep up the good work. So, let’s happily begin our next mission~!]

The scene in front of Yan Luo suddenly blurred, and the familiar dizziness hit her.

Yan Luo, who hadn’t had time to react : Damn, this is blatant revenge, isn’t it??!!

The majestic mountain peak exuded an aura of grandeur.

A few wisps of mist swirled around, and at the highest point of Lingyun Sect, the Yuntian Platform, the once-in-a-decade apprenticeship ceremony was taking place.

Sect Leader Lin Qing sat in the central position, and beside him was a petite woman in blue and white Daoist robe.

Her black hair cascaded like a waterfall, simply tied with a jade hairpin. Her eyes were slightly lowered, her expression indifferent. Her skin was fair, and she held a crystal blue folding fan in her hand, making her white hands look even more lustrous like jade.

She looked very young, seemingly around seventeen or eighteen years old, but everyone in Lingyun Sect knew her background.

Yan Luo, the Junior Uncle1 of Sect Leader Lin Qing, a genius with a single ice spiritual root, was the most likely to ascend to the higher realm in nearly three hundred years and was revered by everyone in Lingyun Sect.

“Junior Uncle, it’s about time. Shall we start the awarding ceremony?” Lin Qing glanced at the children standing in the center, raised his eyebrows, and looked at Yan Luo.

Awarding the plaques meant the apprenticeship was successful. Yan Luo responded softly, raised her hand first, and a small green jade plaque appeared in her hand. It traced a stream of light in the air and landed in front of the most eager boy.

Her voice, clear as an oriole’s bell yet undeniably cold and authoritative, though not loud, reached everyone’s ears.

Everyone couldn’t help but hold their breath, bowing their heads even lower in respect.

“After the ceremony, you will go to Luoyun Peak on your own.”

Then Yan Luo looked at Lin Qing beside her, “You may begin.”

Without looking back, she turned and left.

“Yes, Junior Uncle.” Lin Qing was evidently used to Yan Luo’s habit of leaving immediately after giving out the plaque. For his Junior Uncle to accept the most talented child of the year and even show up at the beginning of the ceremony was already giving enough face.

He glanced at Gu Sicun, who was holding the jade plaque excitedly, and a hint of satisfaction appeared in his eyes.

This child had some connections with him, and now that Yan Luo had accepted the child, it could be considered as giving an account to his original family.

Gu Sicun held the slightly cool jade plaque in his hand, his heart filled with excitement from Yan Luo’s actions.

In his ear, Lin Qing’s voice transmission was explaining the matters to pay attention to under Yan Luo’s tutelage.

Gu Sicun listened carefully, knowing how rare this opportunity was.

  1. the raw said “小师叔” (xiǎoshīshū) and the description Gemini gave me was : It is a term of address used to refer to a younger male uncle in a martial arts or spiritual lineage. I think this could mean that Yan Luo is the younger fellow disciple of Lin Qing’s master. Though I don’t know why Yan Luo, a woman, is referred to as ‘Uncle’. There might be some explanations in the later chapters, so I’m going to follow the author and leave it as ‘Uncle’ for now. ↩︎

rokumi’s note : we’re entering a xianxia arc now. Since I don’t read xianxia other than the arcs in QT novels, please do pardon me if I used wrong terminologies.
