Chapter 2 – Scold
Gurgle gurgle…
A string of bubbles floated up from the bottom of an upside-down water bucket, causing the water level in the cup to rise slightly.
The cup was now about seventy percent full, and Cheng Che, feeling bored, released the cold water button.
During a break when no one was paying attention, Fei Shen slowly approached from the doorway and whispered, “Brother Che, are you okay?”
“No,” Cheng Che’s succinct[mfn]”succinct” means brief, concise, and to the point[/mfn] reply.
Fei Shen breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good then.”
Cheng Che just shook his head and walked towards the edge of the crowd with his paper cup in hand.
He was fine for now, but he knew trouble was coming soon.
“Look here, for this team fight that will happen at the fourteen-minute mark when Lian Rong opens, you should use your Wind Spirit Rune for Qixi at this time…”
A friend stopped mid-sentence and looked over at Cheng Che, who had just come from the water cooler. “Clear, do you need something?”
Generally, the second team members didn’t need to listen to this type of strategic information.
Cheng Che lowered his gaze and responded, “Qi Qi wants, wants…water.”
“Okay.”
Little Stutterer handed himself the cup while speaking, with a hint of sharpness mixed in his otherwise submissive demeanor. Seventeen received the water somewhat awkwardly and said a quick “thank you.”
Cheng Che responded with a perfunctory “you’re welcome.”
He already knew what kind of people the members of the first team were. Among the five of them, Qi Qi was a rare ordinary person.
The rest were either hypocrites, sea kings, or loudmouths…and the most difficult to deal with was the jungler with a mental disorder – Lava.
This was not a good place to stay for long, and Cheng Che just wanted to leave quickly.
As expected, the difficult big brother began to speak in an insidious manner as soon as Cheng Che left. “Has nobody at home taught you to use both hands when handing things over? Your mouth and hands aren’t very nimble, are they?”
Cheng Che, who was jumping frantically in the minefield, clenched his fists expressionlessly.
Lava sneered and glanced at him, “Oh, Little Stutterer has some temper now?”
Nobody said anything, and everyone kept quiet.
No one would make enemies with such a petty person who spoke badly about others behind their backs, especially not for someone with a stutter.
It was human nature to seek advantage and avoid harm, and they didn’t do anything wrong.
Cheng Che understood.
“When handing things to elders or leaders, you should use both hands, but it’s not that important between peers.”
Cheng Che interrupted his mockery and retorted with impatience, “Moreover, I don’t think someone who kicks doors and chairs after losing a game has the qualification to teach others about manners.”
It was a piercingly accurate remark, and he said it beautifully.
He was stunned after finishing his sentence, and so was everyone else in the room.
Fei Shen was the first to react, “Cheng…Clear, did you just speak fluently?”
This was definitely a medical miracle!
“Really, really? I-I stutter… Is it cured?” Cheng Che turned around to look at him, his eyes shining as if there were little stars twinkling in them.
Will all the various problems, such as stuttering, be cured automatically after rebirth? After all, it was the first time he had been reborn, and he was not yet familiar with all the tricks.
Cheng Che scratched his head. Fei Shen asked, “Um, no.”
If it were really that easy, not only would his stutter be cured, he would also have to write a research paper and even win the Nobel Prize in medicine. If conditions allowed, he could even build a temple.
“Hey…” Disappointed, Cheng Che suddenly felt a little down and didn’t say anything, turning around to leave.
Fei Shen said, “Brother Che, twist your own head. Don’t make that stupid look like you want to twist Lava’s idiotic head off.”
“Stop.” Lava only realized after a while that what he had said earlier was mocking himself for being bad, and in anger, he snatched the cup from Qi Qi’s hand and splashed it at Cheng Che.
Qi Qi cried out, “Clear!” The substitute top laner and Fei Shen looked shocked. What’s going on?
Seeing their strange expressions looking at him, Cheng Che turned sideways to look behind him and narrowly avoided the water splashed at him, which only got on his clothes a little bit.
The cold water splashed onto the floor with a snap, and everyone looked at each other. That was close.
Lava’s face turned blue and white, looking like a jumping clown, extremely ugly.
“…” Cheng Che had no comment on this. With his thinking and mentality as an adult in his twenties, these children’s tricks couldn’t even enter his eyes. So he just walked away, not planning to pay any attention to Lava.
“You stuttering… no, you shorty… I told you to get lost, didn’t I?” Seeing Cheng Che’s calm and composed appearance, Lava felt he had lost his dignity and took a few steps forward to grab Cheng Che’s back collar, wanting to show off and find some face.
Cheng Che was not tall, just over 1.7 meters, and was wearing a white team uniform, making him look like a cute little white cat in Lava’s grip.
A thought flashed through Lava’s mind. The next second, Cheng Che threw him over his shoulder in a perfect judo throw.
“F*ck…”
“Don’t… don’t mess with me.” Can’t borrow toilet paper… damn it, off-topic… Your mother, enough is enough.
“Tsk…” The group of people in the room only realized that they needed to intervene and quickly pulled Lava up, while Fei Shen and the substitute top laner took Cheng Che to one side.
It was really annoying, and Manager Zhang Hui glared fiercely at Cheng Che. Cheng Che still had no expression on his face. He even felt a little aggrieved in his heart: it was Lava who had touched his white clothes with dirty hands first.
Lian Rong covered his mouth and laughed, secretly giving a six hand gesture where Clear could see it.
“Are you okay?”
Lava may have been dizzy from the fall and shook his head.
“Y-Y-You…you turned on me,” stammered Cheng Che, but his calmness didn’t mean that Zhang Hui wasn’t angry. Zhang Hui was even furious and wanted to kick him out of the house.
Cheng Che defended himself calmly, “I was acting in self-defense.”
“I can vouch for him,” said Fei Shen, raising his hand.
Zhang Hui pointed his finger at Cheng Che and cursed, “When did it become your turn to speak in the team?”
Fei Shen was taken aback and lowered his head and hand.
“You’ve been hanging out with Lava too much and you don’t even understand the rules,” Zhang Hui continued to curse, his words even more offensive than the team bully Lava.
Everyone was trying to gang up on Cheng Che.
Lian Rong touched his arm and advised him to drink some water to calm down, pointing to the water on the floor.
Cheng Che was almost amused by this.
“Are you laughing? How dare you?” Zhang Hui noticed Cheng Che’s expression changing and was even angrier, lifting his hand to slap him.
Qi Qi reacted quickly, holding onto the manager’s arm tightly. “Don’t use force!”
“Get lost!” Zhang Hui pushed Qi Qi away.
Qi Qi took a few steps back but accidentally stepped on the water that Lava had spilled on the floor, slipping and falling on his back with a cry.
Cheng Che was prepared to grab Zhang Hui’s wrist and disarm him, but was caught off guard by Qi Qi’s fall, standing there stunned and confused.
The room fell silent.
The other members of the team, chose to watch from the sidelines.
They had no emotional connection with Qi Qi, who had just joined the team at the beginning of the season. Fighting with the manager over him wasn’t worth it.
Cheng Che looked at the people in the room and suddenly had an idea: Help him up.
If the wall didn’t yield, he would yield.
“Huh?” Lian Rong was about to go and help his shooter, but saw Cheng Che awkwardly reaching out to help Qi Qi up.
He beat him to it.
At this point, Qi Qi was thinking, “Did the sun rise from the west?”
“Th-Th-Thank you, Clear,” stuttered Qi Qi, thanking Cheng Che.
“I-I thank you too,” Cheng Che replied without looking at anyone, taking him to the couch.
Zhang Hui was completely fed up at this point, sneering at the ground and cursing, “What a f*cking jinx.”
He didn’t even bother to check if Qi Qi was hurt.
After all, the team culture of TG was clear: Jungle was the big dad, Top and Support were the next level, and Mid and AD Carry were the lowest level.
Substitutes were not even considered human.
Cheng Che turned his head and gave him a cold and terrifying look.
“What are you looking at?” Zhang Hui’s heart trembled at the sight of him. “What can you do with your stuttering?”
“Hey, you guessed it right. I can’t do anything, but I can curse you.”
Cheng Che always had a sharp tongue when it came to insulting people: “Watch your filthy mouth, fill up the holes in your brain, take medicine if you’re sick, and come find your dad if you don’t have anyone to rely on. Don’t bark all the time and annoy your dad’s eyes.”
He was oozing with charisma.
…In his past life, Clear had played professionally on the KPL stage for two years, reaching the pinnacle of his career upon his debut. With his extraordinary sense of swordplay and impeccable technique, he continuously topped the charts for development path statistics.
At the same time, he was also named the league’s number one marksman by the event organizers, a honor that no one else had ever received.
Clear’s web fans as the number one marksman numbered ten million, four times that of the KPL league’s official website.
However, what made Cheng Che stand out wasn’t his skill or honors, but his ability to insult others without ever repeating himself, despite his stutter.
Although he stuttered, his insults were deadly.
“Reborn as a Stutterer with the Talent to Insult Without Stuttering.”
Adding fuel to the fire, this was like piling on poison.
Fei Shen secretly gave him a thumbs up with his hand in his pocket.
On the other side, Lian Rong said, “Six.”
“You…you…”
Zhang Hui was so choked up that he couldn’t speak and his anger boiled over, repeatedly uttering the word “you.”
“Poof…” Qi Qi chuckled softly, poking his clothes with his index finger.
“Just what are you? Did your brain fall out with your placenta and now you can’t speak?” Cheng Che sneered, turning to settle Qi Qi onto the couch. “What do you mean ‘you’? You’re just an idiot.”
“Your mother, □□(insulting word).”
By hurling insults back and forth, Cheng Che took control of the situation step by step, eventually delivering the fatal blow.
