It was a short two-minute video that fully showcases every aspect of this character, her selfishness and cruelty, her beautiful face uttering hypocritical words, and her extreme emotional transitions that provide a strong visual impact.

But at the end of the video, it didn’t follow the storyline but instead chose a scene from the middle of a dance party.

This storyline originally had the supporting female character out of jealousy forcibly taking possession of a beautiful pair of crystal shoes that the male lead had given to the female protagonist. She insisted on wearing them, even though the size was not suitable, and endured the pain as she squeezed her feet into the shoes, trembling as she walked.

However, because of the excellent performance by Shang Lu during this scene, she gradually masked the pain with an indifferent expression and walked back into the center of the dance floor, still capturing the attention of the crowd.

The final shot froze on the disdainful smile of Qin Jiaojiao, played by Shang Lu.

Subtitles then appear in the end of the video.

—[Born a Villainess, loves but unloved.
In that case, let’s trample everyone underfoot.]

In the comments section, Sweetie Donut added a line.

[Qin Jiaojiao’s character isn’t just the typical malicious supporting female character motivated by romantic jealousy. After her blackening, she harbors equal disdain for both the male and female leads, becoming a true antagonist! As long as you don’t watch the last three episodes where she’s defeated (after all, we all know that good must prevail over evil), she’s a sassy villainess in my video!]

[Wow, this is amazing!]

[This is called a malicious supporting character? She’s clearly a genuine heiress of a conglomerate!]

[I’m tired of sweet and naive idol dramas. Can’t we have a strong and bad female lead? I think Shang Lu’s character is quite refreshing!]

[Hats off to Shang Lu’s acting and Sweetie Donut’s editing skills! I suddenly want to watch this series now.]

[I’ve already finished watching it! Trust me, Sweetie Donut is right. Just don’t watch the ending, and you’ll see that she’s not a malicious supporting character but the big boss!]

[Sister! Teach me how to be your dog, Sister!]

[Sis, I know you’re excited, but don’t get too carried away. I’m afraid you might lose your account.]

Shang Lu’s character alone gained immense popularity online once again.

Upon seeing this, the original male lead of <Falling in Love with Summer> immediately changed his marketing strategy. Instead of blaming Ning Lin for his past failures, he seized the opportunity to collaborate with several well-known content creators to make fan videos featuring his character with Shang Lu. This successfully redirected public opinion towards the idea that the male lead and the supporting female character should have a happy ending, earning the series some much-needed attention. For him, the series was no longer a complete failure.

Jiang Yi had never expected this turn of events. He had released the series with the intention of bringing attention back to Ning Lin after so much time had passed. His plan was to use the series to make the online community remember Ning Lin, garner some praise for her as the chosen female lead, generate buzz for the entertainment industry idol drama scene, and then release more positive stories about Ning Lin’s charity work in the past few months to further improve her public image.

The plan seemed perfect, but Jiang Yi had not anticipated the current outcome. After the series aired, all the attention was unexpectedly focused on Shang Lu. Even the male lead, who was perceived as foolish, immediately jumped on the Shang Lu bandwagon for self-promotion.

Ning Lin, the female lead, was completely pushed aside, and when she was occasionally mentioned, it was with mockery, completely contradicting Jiang Yi’s original intentions.

Shang Lu doesn’t really know much about all the twists and turns. After all, <Salvation Plan> is about to finish shooting, and she’s busy every day, occasionally finding time to have dinner with Xiao Mi. She simply doesn’t have the energy to think about these things.

On the other hand, <Sweet Cherry> is just a simple idol drama, so Lin Yanyan finished shooting earlier than Shang Lu.

On the last day of filming on the set.

Lin Yanyan felt quite awkward. After recording the variety show together and returning, Tang Qingqing didn’t actively appear in front of her again, so she hadn’t found the right time to explain the the matter about ‘Shang Lu’s cousin.’

Seeing that today is the last day and if she doesn’t explain, she won’t see Tang Qingqing again, and when Tang Qingqing sees the truth online, Tang Qingqing will definitely be angry.

Lin Yanyan is not afraid to offend Tang Qingqing. Their relationship was never good anyway. But she feels that she can’t let Tang Qingqing misunderstand Lulu, so she reluctantly arrived at the door of Tang Qingqing’s makeup room.

After looking left and right to make sure no one was around, Lin Yanyan finally reached out and knocked on the door.

*Knock, knock, knock—*

“Come in.” Tang Qingqing’s voice came from inside. When she saw that it was Lin Yanyan walking in after pushing the door, she immediately showed an impatient expression. “Why are you here?”

“I just wanted to tell you, you… your acting is really terrible!” Lin Yanyan said as she hesitated for a moment before speaking out.

Tang Qingqing: “?”

—Are you crazy?

Tang Qingqing laughed in exasperation, “Whoever messes up more knows it best. It’s the last day, and you came specifically to argue with me? Afraid you won’t have a chance in the future? Are you that bored?”

Tang Qingqing’s words were like a spark, and Lin Yanyan had a fiery temper. Lin Yanyan immediately retorted, “Who’s arguing with you? I have something important to tell you!”

“Just say it then,” Tang Qingqing said impatiently, touched up her lipstick in front of the mirror, and then looked at Lin Yanyan.

Lin Yanyan took a deep breath.

Whether she speaks up or keeps quiet, it’s the same. After all, it’s the last day, and they won’t have to see each other again!

So Lin Yanyan finally said, “It’s not a big deal, it’s just that the person you like…”

Before Lin Yanyan could finish her sentence, the door was pushed open from outside, and Tang Qingqing’s assistant, who had been missing for almost a month, rushed in, panting heavily with her hands on her knees. “Sister Qingqing! I finally found it! The guy you saw that day isn’t a man at all! He’s not Shang Lu’s cousin; it’s Shang Lu disguised as a man! You’ve been fooled!”

Lin Yanyan : “…”

Damn, why did this assistant come now, of all times, when she’s here? What kind of joke is this?

Tang Qingqing : “!”

They locked eyes.

Lin Yanyan gritted her teeth and said, “If you blame anyone, blame me. It was my idea alone.”

Lin Yanyan has already prepared to have a big quarrel with Tang Qingqing. Anyway, given their relationship, this is quite normal, right? There’s nothing to feel guilty about!

But Tang Qingqing didn’t argue with Lin Yanyan as usual when she looked at Lin Yanyan. Instead, she burst into tears in an instant.

“How could this happen? My first love is over, *sob*…”

Lin Yanyan : “…”

First love? What on earth! Is Tang Qingqing referring to Shang Lu?

There seemed to be something in Lin Yanyan’s chest that was throbbing faintly, could it be guilt?

It can’t be, right?

Hmm… impossible!

Shang Lu found out about this three days later.

She had just finished filming for <Salvation Plan>, and Lin Yanyan didn’t have much to do, so she drove to pick up Shang Lu for dinner at her place.

After dinner, Lin Yanyan mysteriously brought out a huge box and led Shang Lu to her makeup table.

Shang Lu looked at the makeup remover handed to her and asked, “What is this for?”

With anticipation all over her face, Lin Yanyan clasped her hands together and begged, “I want to livestream doing makeup on you.”

And when that big box was opened, it was filled with various makeup products.

Shang Lu vaguely remembered that Lin Yanyan seemed to have a livestreaming account where she shared her favorite beauty products every month.

Miss Rich didn’t need money and didn’t do ads, but quite a few people liked watching her, so she kept doing it.

“Okay.” Shang Lu agreed casually and said, “I’ll go remove my makeup first.”

“Great!” Lin Yanyan happily responded and started the livestream.

Lin Yanyan greeted the camera, “Hello everyone, I’m Lin Yanyan! It’s time for my monthly beauty product sharing, but today I have a special guest, my best friend! Can you guess who she is?”

The barrage of comments went like this:

[Tang Qingqing?]

[Hahaha, are you crazy, previous commenter? Anyone knows they don’t get along.]

[Since it’s about beauty products, it must be—
Ye Lu!]

There were various speculations in the chat, but no one mentioned Shang Lu’s name.

Lin Yanyan was getting anxious and felt absurd. She asked, “Are you guys serious? I’m going to kick out everyone who’s guessing randomly!”

[Hahaha, Princess, don’t get angry, we’re just joking. We all know who the princess’s best friend is, no need to guess.]

[Shang Lu Shang Lu Shang Lu, I said it three times, is it enough?]

[So where’s Shang Lu?]

The barrage comments finally gave Lin Yanyan some face and mentioned the correct answer she wanted to hear.
