When Shang Lu, Xu Ze, and Gong Yue walked the red carpet together, the host cued in on this matter.
Shang Lu responded, “It’s mainly to establish a public image for myself. They are all extras I hired, and I can deceive one if I want to.”
[Haha, I never expected Shang Lu to say something like this.]
[Shang Lu went from actively denying rumors to now actively creating them for herself. What has she been through?]
[Shang Lu : You can say whatever you want, it doesn’t matter.]
[Very much in line with Shang Lu’s character of starting to act aloof when she can’t explain it well, hahaha.]
Next comes the photo session.
Xu Ze and Gong Yue stood on either side of Shanglu, naturally leaving the center spot for her.
[As the flash photography began, in order to showcase the style of the dress, Shang Lu didn’t wear her usual smile this time. Instead, she deliberately maintained a cold expression, chin slightly up.
The black dress accentuated her flawless skin and revealed her perfect shoulders. The wisps of hair on her face added a touch of laziness to her otherwise cold demeanor. The pearl earrings were just the right embellishment, without diverting attention away from her face.
She looked like a sheltered heiress from a prominent family and more like a mysterious flower in a dangerous castle, intriguing and enticing.
[Shang Lu looks stunning today! She suits different styles so well!]
[I’m just going to say it! She looks like a queen!]
[Ah, can I say she gives off a bit of a Song Yanxue vibe? Looking forward to her new drama even more!]
[Xu Ze and Gong Yue standing next to her are like two knights protecting a princess.]
[I’m getting dizzy from her beauty, someone help!]
The photographers were naturally going crazy capturing the moments, knowing that Shang Lu’s outfit would surely trend. They wanted to capture the best shots.
After signing in and entering the venue, Shang Lu first went to find Lin Yanyan.
Lin Yanyan was surrounded by young actresses of the same age, but her relationship with them was not great. So, the moment she saw Shang Lu, she quickly waved.
Sitting in the venue for hours can be quite boring most of the time.
Shang Lu could only chat with Lin Yanyan for a while before returning to her own seat.
Lin Yanyan complained, “Why are our seats so far apart?”
Behind her, Tang Qingqing’s voice sounded very real as she replied, “Because your statuses don’t match.”
Lin Yanyan turned around in anger and sneered, “You’re sitting one row behind me too!”
Tang Qingqing was speechless after being criticized but refused to give in. She just coldly snorted to express her attitude.
Shang Lu was in a front-row position because she represented SC. After a brief chat, she returned to her front-row seat.
To Shang Lu’s left was Xu Ze, and to her right was Gong Yue.
Shang Lu and Gong Yue weren’t very familiar, and apart from a nod of acknowledgment when he gave up his seat, they didn’t engage in any conversation.
But Shang Lu was talkative, so she could only chat with Xu Ze.
Xu Ze had made some progress; previously, his responses were mostly just nods and shakes of the head. At some point, he started using simple words and even progressed to short sentences.
Although it wasn’t quite at the level of one sentence per respond, he was at least responding to everything.
When Xu Ze spoke more than fifteen words at once, Shang Lu gave him a thumbs-up, saying, “Xu Ze, you’ve improved.”
Xu Ze looked puzzled and asked, “Improved at what?”
Shang Lu sincerely praised him, “Today, you’ve talked to me a lot, and your voice sounds nice. You should speak more in the future.”
Xu Ze lowered his eyelashes and replied after a few seconds, “Okay.”
Soon after, Shang Lu saw a male model she liked, also dressed in SC attire, entering the scene. She rested her chin on her hand and advised Xu Ze, “You shouldn’t wear this outfit in the future; it doesn’t look good.”
Before Xu Ze could respond, Gong Yue, sitting on the other side, suddenly asked, “What’s not good about it?”
Shang Lu didn’t expect Gong Yue to initiate a conversation with her, so she examined the outfit more closely and said, “It seems to want to highlight fashion elements, but it’s a bit cluttered, and the color combination is strange. Maybe the question should be, what’s good about it?”
“Do you even understand?” Gong Yue’s famous model face grew even colder. “This is currently the most popular style abroad.”
Shang Lu looked at Gong Yue and said, “Is that so? I genuinely don’t understand.”
Gong Yue was momentarily speechless. He hadn’t expected Shang Lu to admit not understanding, and his prepared taunts suddenly got stuck in his throat, making it inappropriate to say them.
At that moment, Xu Ze’s voice chimed in, “Hmm, I won’t wear it. I also think it doesn’t look good.”
“Is that so?” Shang Lu glanced at it again and said, “If you change the color of the shoulder bag to something darker, the overall look will be much better, right? If you match it too precisely, it might appear strange.”
Shang Lu had originally just spoken casually and didn’t think much of it. However, when he heard this, Gong Yue’s gaze fell on the male model once again.
He had originally planned to mock Shang Lu, wondering what a celebrity in the entertainment industry knew about the sense of fashion. But at the moment he saw the male model, he hesitated slightly.
If her suggestion was implemented with a slight modification, it did seem to be more pleasing to the eye.
Without discussing fashion or the aesthetics of matching, even just the visual effect to the naked eye would change.
Gong Yue furrowed his brow but remained silent.
In the following few hours, Shang Lu truly found it uninteresting. She announced that after the magazine shoot, nothing could be more boring.
It wasn’t until the final group photo where everyone was on stage that Shang Lu finally revealed her first genuine smile of the day.
Finally—
It was over!
The contrast between Shang Lu’s originally drowsy appearance and the moment the host signaled them to go on stage was turned into numerous GIFs by fans.
[How does Shang Lu act like me after getting off work, haha]
[The moment the host mentioned the group photo, there was a glimmer in Shang Lu’s eyes]
The picture of Shang Lu with a cold expression on the red carpet and the one where she enthusiastically greeted her fans before getting into the nanny car were placed side by side, creating a strong contrast.
[Shang Lu vividly shows the difference between working and after work, and even the non-fans will save this as an expression meme, haha]
[Suddenly realized how cute Shang Lu is]
On that evening, while stars dazzled on the red carpet, the most remarkable one was—
#Shang_Lu_Acting_Like_Me_After_Getting_Off_Work#
#Yan_Zijiao_Shang_Lu_Is_My_Benefactor#
Ou Yi forwarded the latter’s, said nothing, and just typed an ellipsis to express his speechlessness.
[Hahaha, I knew Ou Yi would respond to this.]
[Even though I’m an atheist, I firmly defend Ou Yi’s right to protect his beliefs!]
[Ou Yi : Don’t you have your own benefactor? Don’t steal mine!]
Meanwhile, Shang Lu’s red carpet look also caused a bit of a stir. This time, the red carpet look received unanimous praise from stylists.
Following that, the next day, PL Magazine released a dual cover featuring Shang Lu and Ye Lu, along with a direct link to purchase, which quickly trended.
[Hahaha, it’s funny that Shang Lu and Ye Lu ended up doing it together, and it’s a theme about them having a turtle and rabbit race. I’m dying of laughter, PL is really mischievous.]
[Yesterday + today, Shang Lu single-handedly made the fashion world funny (I’m just talking nonsense).]
[Even ordinary people have placed orders, so let’s consider it my payment to Shang Lu for using her meme material.]
[Let me think about it, I’ll buy a copy too, consider it paying for the joy of Shang Lu taking Ye Lu for a walk.]
[Shang Lu and Ye Lu must be scratching their heads after hearing this, hahaha.]
[Weirdly, their popularity among the general public is increasing.]
…
On the same day, the physical magazine sold over 200,000 copies and the growth trend was still strong.
Fans of Ye Lu & Shang Lu : Don’t ask questions; just say thank you to the general public.
Even more fashion brands recognized the potential in Shang Lu and sent collaboration invitations to her studio.
Regarding this, Shang Lu said : “Thank you, but I really have no intention of entering the fashion industry. I just want to focus on acting.”
The situation on Ye Lu’s side was the same; he just wanted to prepare sincerely for the upcoming anniversary concert.
The main concern was that they were afraid of encountering difficulties again if they had to film another time, and there wouldn’t be a second Ou Yi to save them.
Two rising stars in the fashion world—
Hilariously, they can’t seem to take off at all.
