Do You Still Hate Her? 22 – “Come home with me.”
This outcome was naturally not what Jiang Yi wanted.
Moreover, the company had already made arrangements before. In theory, they should be promoting his and Shang Lu’s CP right now. Why does everything good end up benefiting Xu Ze?
Jiang Yi was naturally unwilling to accept this and didn’t want to go back empty-handed. He decided to stick to the original plan and clear his name, even though the results might not meet expectations. But it was better than doing nothing at all.

All these trending topics were set up together.
However, what surprised Jiang Yi was that within just ten minutes, all three of these trending topics were taken down.
Jiang Yi felt bewildered. He was about to call the head of his media company to understand the situation when there was a knock on the office door.
An assistant walked in and said, “President Jiang, President Chi has responded regarding the collaboration case.”
Compared to Shang Lu, collaborating with Chi’s Corporation was naturally more important. So, Jiang Yi temporarily put aside those matters and said, “Go ahead.”
The assistant said, “President Chi is very interested in your proposal and believes that a collaboration is possible.”
Jiang Yi’s expression softened, and he even smiled.
That’s great.
A few months ago, he brought up this collaboration plan with Chi Yan, but Chi Yan has never given a respond.
This is a significant business deal. Setting aside the long-term benefits it could bring to the company, as long as they can secure a contract like this with the Chi Family, it signifies that the Jiang Family and the Chi Family are still in a mutually beneficial partnership. Other businesses in the capital will respect the Jiang Family more and compete to curry favor with them.
The assistant continued, “However, President Chi has a request on his end. He hopes that before this, you could provide some advice for their charity work in Liberia.”
Liberia is a well-known impoverished nation.
Jiang Yi readily agreed, “No problem, I’ll arrange for a few people to go over.”
But as the conversation progressed, the assistant’s expression turned hesitant. He continued, “President Chi hopes that you could personally go there for an on-site inspection. The plane has already been arranged, departing at three in the afternoon.”
Jiang Yi : “?”
Jiang Yi asked, “Is he joking?”
In such a remote place, not to mention that the Chi Family is doing charity work, the conditions there must be extremely harsh. How could he possibly go there and endure such hardship? Is Chi Yan out of his mind?
The assistant became nervous, “Because… because President Chi mentioned… he said…”
Seeing his assistant stumbling over words, Jiang Yi’s expression turned colder, and he said, “Speak.”
“President Chi said that you actually have the energy to participate in variety shows, so you should have some free time and should be able to help him with this favor. If you can’t even show this bit of sincerity, then there’s no need to discuss cooperation.”
The assistant was appointed by Jiang Yi’s father and mustered up the courage to continue with the reminder, “Our cooperation with the Chi Family isn’t particularly close to begin with, and it’s almost time to renew the contract this year. You mustn’t act impulsively, otherwise, it will affect the entire Jiang Family.”
Shang Lu bought a large fish tank and is planning to raise two goldfish at home.
The delivery guy rushed to the entrance of the residential compound to drop off the package and had to leave due to an urgent matter. Shang Lu, understanding the situation, reassured him, “It’s okay, I understand.” She then proceeded to carry the large fish tank back on her own.
The box was so big that it almost blocked half of her field of vision, but fortunately, the building she lived in wasn’t too far from the community’s entrance.
However, when she tried to press the elevator button, she found it quite challenging. Balancing the fish tank with one hand, she attempted to free her hand to press the button, but the box slipped from her grasp and started to fall.
Luckily, at that moment, another person entered the elevator. Just in time, they caught the falling fish tank and lifted it up.
“Thank you so much,” Shang Lu exclaimed as her hands were now free. She pressed the button for her floor and was about to ask, “Which floor do you live on? I can help…”
Before she could finish her sentence, her expression turned cold.
Because right next to her in the elevator stood none other than Shang Mu.
He had returned from abroad.
After a long time apart, he appeared visibly thinner, but his expression remained as disdainful as ever.
He held the fish tank she had purchased, looked down at her from his elevated position, and with a hint of mockery in his eyes, he said, “I heard you’re cutting ties with your family? Is that why you’re living in a place like this, enduring days where no one even helps you carry your things?”
“Mind your own business,” Shang Lu took a deep breath and snatched her fish tank back from his hands. She repeated to herself a hundred times, “I am a female celebrity, I need to maintain composure,” to suppress the urge to swear. She waited for the elevator to reach her floor and the doors to open again.
It seemed that some things just wouldn’t go away, and even in a place like this, she couldn’t escape being found.
As Shang Mu sensed Shang Lu’s natural aversion towards him, he still questioned, “Have you forgotten what you promised me?”
Shang Lu naturally remembered. She had promised not to participate in <The Most Hated Her and Him>.
But back then, she had only placated Shang Mu, and even more so now.
Without looking at Shang Mu, Shang Lu gazed ahead and candidly said, “I lied to you. You’re about to go abroad, and you won’t have any control over me. There’s no need for me to argue and waste time with you.”
Shang Mu’s breath hitched.
He seemed surprised that Shang Lu admitted it so straightforwardly.
Shang Mu had returned to the country five days ago, only to find that Shang Lu hadn’t returned home since.
However, when he inquired with the household servants, they merely mentioned that Young Lady and Master had argued, and she wouldn’t be coming home for the time being.
When Shang Mu went to Shang Lu’s original apartment, he learned that she had moved away.
It wasn’t until he watched the variety show she participated in that he realized she had the audacity to sever ties with her family.
When Shang Mu questioned his father about this matter, the reply was no more than, “When wings grow strong, one wants to explore the world. She’ll come back sooner or later. There’s no need to bother about her.”
Naturally, Shang Mu was worried. He had put in extra effort to find this place and was determined to take Shang Lu back.
This isn’t where she should be staying.
At that moment, the elevator doors opened.
Shang Lu walked away, leaving only these words: “Entering someone’s private residence without permission is a crime. If you follow me, I will definitely call the police.”
However, Shang Mu reached out and grabbed her wrist, stating firmly, “Come home with me.”
It was a commanding tone, arrogantly nauseating.
Shang Lu felt like she could call the police now, but another voice suddenly sounded—
“Shang Mu, let her go.”
It was a voice she was familiar with, but it no longer sounded as casual as in her memories.
Shang Lu was somewhat surprised and looked up, only to see Chi Yan, dressed in a black shirt, inexplicably here, standing right in front of her.
At the moment he saw Chi Yan, Shang Mu let go of her hand as he considered the presence of an outsider, and asked, “Young Master Chi, why are you at my sister’s place?”
Chi Yan took the fish tank from Shang Lu’s hand and placed it aside, then his other hand held her wrist and pulled her behind him.
He smiled and replied, “Coincidentally, we’re neighbors.”
CY, you finally here!
