Chapter 82 – Rough Star Pirate Leader VS War God Empire Prince [AA] (9)
However, it was evident that Chester had forgotten; now the faces around him were covered with masks. Even if he wanted to see the expressions on their faces, the conditions didn’t seem to allow it.
Seeing many charming Omegas and Betas approaching, Chester immediately nervously stepped back, attempting to shield the person behind him. Eventually, he just wrapped his arm around Mu Jin’s shoulder, as if worried that someone else might snatch him away. He forgot that Mu Jin, in the current group, was the least conspicuous.
Mu Jin’s attire was simple, especially trailing behind Chester, who was a tall and imposing Alpha. Being obscured by the big Alpha, Mu Jin’s existence went unnoticed unless someone paid attention to the man’s actions.
Unaware that his attempt to divert attention had backfired, Chester was still basking in self-satisfaction. Especially in front of others, being able to stay close to his beloved made him feel very happy.
However, he failed to notice that the gazes of the Omegas and Betas were now focused on him because his actions had shifted towards Mu Jin. Seeing Chester hugging a small figure, many suspected it was an Omega he had encountered somewhere.
Since the information on Mu Jin was concealed, making it impossible to smell any scent from him, the onlookers could only speculate that he was a petite Beta. However, with a mask covering his face, the curiosity of the crowd grew.
People started inquiring about the special person whom Chester, usually oblivious to emotions, treated so differently.
Beside them, Bishop saw his brother’s foolish appearance, pushed up his glasses, and couldn’t help but turn away in embarrassment.
The space pirates hadn’t formed an alliance yet, but the most eye-catching were Chester’s pirate group and his rival Yarlin’s group. As the most powerful pirate groups on Das Star, they held significant influence.
Previously, Bishop had warned Chester to be cautious about Yarlin, who was closely monitoring him. As both pirate groups vied for the position of leader on Das Star, Yarlin’s people were scrutinizing Chester, looking for faults or provocations.
Pirates, by nature, prioritized strength, and there were no strict rules, especially among Alphas who retained their combative instincts. After the death of the old man, Yarlin became even more arrogant, deeply resenting Chester.
However, Chester’s tolerance towards Yarlin was temporary. In reality, he preferred direct confrontation and was merely waiting for the upcoming public brawl in the Black Street.
After returning to their lair, the group quickly dispersed. Chester naturally took Mu Jin back to his own place. But before going home, he took Mu Jin to the nearby market to buy some suitable clothes and supplies.
Das Star’s commercial street was bustling, accepting both star coins and item exchanges. Items for sale were diverse, ranging from daily necessities to unique curiosities.
Chester found a stall selling Omega clothing, adorned with luxurious garments that seemed to be looted from noble estates. After careful selection, Chester seemed satisfied, believing only such fine clothes were suitable for his beloved. The stall owner, recognizing Chester, warmly greeted him and offered a discount.
However, Mu Jin, seeing the intricate and frilly clothes, couldn’t bear it. He didn’t want to wear such complicated attire that would hinder his movements. Resolutely refusing Chester to buy, he instead searched for a simple and neat set of clothes at the stall.
Chester felt regret seeing the variety of clothes, but he had no choice but to yield to Mu Jin’s insistence.
Although the outfit Mu Jin chose was simpler, its light green color looked fresh. Chester nodded and spent a considerable amount of star coins on it. Afterward, they explored other stalls, picking several sets of clothes in styles Mu Jin liked, as well as purchasing various daily necessities and interesting trinkets.
With the major shopping done, Chester carried all the items, only handing Mu Jin a small bag of snacks, suggesting he eat while walking. Knowing he had similar stamina to his partner, Mu Jin wanted to help, but Chester insisted he didn’t need to.
Helpless, Mu Jin walked alongside Chester, occasionally feeding him snacks. Seeing the content expression on his beloved’s face, Mu Jin felt a sweet warmth in his heart.
After walking for a while, passing through several alleys and making a few turns, they arrived at an independent courtyard. Inside was a standalone house, not very large but fitting in Mu Jin’s eyes. However, despite having a fenced yard, it was barren.
Mu Jin knew that in this era, there were not many plants that could be grown. The space pirates didn’t have the delicate inclination to cultivate flowers or plants for leisure. Nevertheless, he felt happy because of the existence of the courtyard.
Chester enthusiastically brought his beloved into the house, turned around with a happy smile at Mu Jin, and then swiftly opened the front door. However, just as the house’s door was opened, Chester abruptly closed it.
Turning back, his face looked somewhat awkward as he glanced at Mu Jin. He chuckled awkwardly and said, “Uh, Xiao Jin, why don’t you sit and rest for a while? You must be tired. The house is a bit messy; I’ll tidy it up first.”
Mu Jin blinked, instantly curious about the state of the house. He shook his head at Chester’s suggestion, smiling gently, “It’s okay. Since I’ll be living here in the future, let’s clean up together.”
Chester’s expression became slightly awkward upon hearing Mu Jin’s words. Although he hoped Mu Jin would wait outside and let him handle the cleanup, Mu Jin was insistent. Having no choice, he reluctantly stepped aside and awkwardly opened the door.
As the door swung open, the scene inside the house was completely exposed, and Mu Jin finally understood why Chester had been so nervous earlier.
The room in front of him could no longer be described as dirty; it was dimly lit, and Chester quickly turned on the lights as Mu Jin entered the room. However, as soon as the light was on, the state of the room became even more apparent.
Piles of garbage, everyday items, and even clothes were scattered around haphazardly. Mu Jin’s face showed no negative expression; in fact, in this world, seeing his bearded lover made him feel that men were carefree. However, seeing the state of his lover’s home, he realized how carefree it had become.
He touched a short cabinet nearby, and indeed, there was a thick layer of dust on top. The house seemed to have been uninhabited for a long time, and Mu Jin looked at Chester with some confusion.
Chester scratched his head awkwardly, chuckling as he spoke to Mu Jin, “Sorry, Xiao Jin. I haven’t been back in a long time. I didn’t expect it to be so messy inside. Usually, I spend most of my time on the ship. I only come back once or twice a year, and I’ve forgotten what it looks like here.”
Rarely seeing Chester in such an embarrassed state, Mu Jin found it quite amusing, but he didn’t mind. Understanding, he smiled softly and said to Chester, “It’s okay; let’s clean up together. We can have this place sorted out quickly.”
After saying that, Mu Jin entered the kitchen, found some cleaning supplies, and began wiping down the house.
Chester, seeing this, was momentarily stunned. Seeing that Mu Jin’s eyes showed no signs of disgust, he couldn’t help but feel touched. He quickly took the cloth from Mu Jin’s hand and cleaned a chair. Then, he placed the chair in front of Mu Jin, anxiously saying, “Xiao Jin, please have a seat and rest. I’ll tidy up the room right away.”
Mu Jin shook his head at the words; he knew Chester was concerned about him, but he really didn’t mind doing this kind of work. Besides, cleaning the room together with his lover was a romantic thing for Mu Jin.
Seeing Mu Jin’s firmness, Chester had no choice but to agree, letting him assist in the cleaning. Both of them worked quickly, their unique physique ensuring a pace incomparable to ordinary people.
The room didn’t take much time to be organized. After getting rid of the trash, the entire house instantly transformed.
Chester watched as Mu Jin arranged small decorations on the sparkling windowsill. The sunlight streaming in reflected on Mu Jin’s gentle face, softening Chester’s expression.
Since the death of the old man, he hadn’t returned for a long time. It wasn’t until Xiao Jin appeared in this room again that he felt the sense of home. It seemed that just having this person made the atmosphere of the whole house warm.
Unable to resist, he walked to Mu Jin’s side, gently embracing him from behind. The scene made him feel sentimental, wishing time could stop for a while to enjoy this wonderful atmosphere because at this moment, he felt truly happy.
Mu Jin seemed to sense Chester’s emotions, turning his head to gently stroke his cheek. The two of them gazed at each other.
The warm atmosphere captivated their minds, and Chester’s embrace tightened. Unable to resist, he lowered his head and gently kissed Mu Jin’s forehead. Realizing it was getting late and not wanting to delay the meal for the person in his arms, he volunteered to take the ingredients they had bought on the street and entered the kitchen.
Mu Jin followed eagerly, looking forward to the fact that this was the first time his lover was personally cooking. Previously, there was a chef responsible for meals on the pirate ship.
What Mu Jin didn’t know was that although pirates ate some regular food, nutritional supplements were indispensable, given the high cost of ingredients. During the shopping with Chester, seeing the substantial amount of star coins spent, Mu Jin knew that the cost of this meal’s ingredients was equivalent to a month’s supply of nutritional fluid for an ordinary household.
However, seeing Chester’s indifferent expression, Mu Jin softened his gaze. Trying to find a solution to the food problem might become a significant goal for him in this world.
Chester himself wasn’t particularly fixated on food. He felt that consuming nutritional fluid was a more convenient and faster way of life. He enjoyed delicious food but disliked the hassle of cooking and eating. Most of the time, the crew used nutritional fluid to satisfy their hunger during missions.
However, he understood basic cooking and, for some reason, believed that Mu Jin would prefer the taste of real food.
After frying and seasoning the meat, Chester prepared a few vegetables and a hearty soup, placing them on the table. Watching Mu Jin’s expectant expression, he smiled and set the tableware in front of him. Somewhat nervously, he looked at his beloved.
Seeing Mu Jin stuffing the meat into his mouth, closing his eyes in satisfaction, and enjoying it, Chester’s heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally relaxed.
It seemed that Xiao Jin was quite satisfied with the taste of the food he made. A slight smile finally appeared on Chester’s face as he picked up the tableware, symbolically took a few bites, but mostly fed Mu Jin.
These foods were rare, and although Chester was willing to spend star coins, high-quality ingredients were not readily available. Of course, he wanted to reserve the best for the person beside him.
Seeing Mu Jin finish his meal, Chester began to carefully prepare some fruits for after dinner.
Mu Jin couldn’t name any of these fruits; the interstellar food was significantly different from that on Earth, and the previous host seemed unfamiliar with these fruits. Perhaps, only adventurous pirates could collect such strange and rare items.
