The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 56

Chapter 56 – Exclusive Sweet Romance: The Battle to Save the Campus Heartthrob (18)

Huo Wen sneaked into the room, turned on the computer, and revoked the external order against the Huo family. She also found Jian Corporation’s bidding documents—though they were just discarded drafts. There was no real value in taking them. Or rather, they weren’t completely useless. No one outside would know whether they were real or not.

She recalled Jian Haocang’s ruthless attitude toward her, and any remaining sense of camaraderie vanished. Stealing the files? She didn’t hesitate.

An hour later, Huo Wen had ransacked Jian Haocang’s computer. Aside from a few folders with unbreakable passwords, she copied everything useful she could access.

Even Jian Haocang’s order for a gift for Bai Mo—she changed the shipping address to her own temporary residence. She needed money.

To Bai Mo and Jian Haocang, these things were insignificant. But for her? Selling them off would at least bring in some compensation.

As the meeting was about to end, Ran Yunyun excused herself, clutching her stomach as if in pain. She rushed to Jian Haocang’s room, knocking urgently to warn Huo Wen. The two escaped just before Jian Haocang returned, slipping back into Ran Yunyun’s room with a sigh of relief.

Little did they know—the moment Jian Haocang stepped inside, he immediately noticed something was off.

No matter how carefully Huo Wen had tried to restore everything to its original place, Jian Haocang’s sharp eyes caught the slightest change.

He quickly went to his computer and brought up the surveillance footage—because he had installed cameras in his room after moving in.

On the screen, footage from an hour ago played: a woman sneaking in after he left, stealing his cash, and copying files from his computer. Huo Wen. Again.

Every time something shady happened, Huo Wen was always involved. If Bai Mo were here, he’d probably be speechless by now. Yet, Jian Haocang’s first thought wasn’t frustration. It was concern—was Huo Wen plotting against Bai Mo again?

He immediately called the butler. But the response? “Everything is quiet. Nothing unusual.” Bai Mo had never meddled in business matters, so Huo Wen stealing his files likely had nothing to do with him.

“Alright, keep a close watch.”

Jian Haocang lacked direct evidence but still instructed the butler to stay alert.

As for the stolen files? He wasn’t worried at all. Aside from that discarded draft, the rest were all deliberate decoys. Just in case something like this happened. And sure enough, it did.

A cold smile appeared on his face. Packing up his belongings, he headed to the front desk to request a room change. The idea of staying in a room Huo Wen had broken into disgusted him.

The commotion from moving belongings alarmed the other members of the design team. One by one, they peeked out of their rooms to see what was going on. Ran Yunyun was among them, but unlike the others who eagerly inquired about the situation, she remained silent, quickly glancing around before shutting her door.

Huo Wen had stolen fake documents. No matter who she handed them to, the company receiving them would suffer huge losses. Jian Haocang wasn’t worried—he was simply waiting to reap the benefits.

However, despite all his calculations, he overlooked one thing: there was a mole inside the company.

On the road, a Rolls-Royce sped along. Bai Mo, having received intelligence from Xiao Bobao, guided Jian Haoqing to the mole’s hideout, where the embezzled funds were being transferred.

Jian Haoqing didn’t question where Bai Mo had gotten the information. Everyone had their secrets, and clearly, Bai Mo was no exception. In fact, if Bai Mo had no means or connections, she would have had to reconsider whether he was truly a good match for Jian Haocang.

Following the “living map” that was Xiao Bobao, the two arrived at a luxurious hotel in a neighboring city. Coincidentally, this was the same hotel where Jian Haocang and his team were staying, and it was also near the venue for the Qing Design Competition.

“If we catch that accountant, I can go visit Brother Haocang~” Bai Mo said, already daydreaming before even stepping out of the car.

Not wanting to dampen his enthusiasm, Xiao Bobao played along. “That’s right, let’s hurry up and take action.” The accountant had already gone into hiding in the hotel, and there was no way he would be unguarded. A tough battle was inevitable.

“Mo Mo, I’ve detected that Huo Wen is also in this hotel,” Xiao Bobao dutifully reminded. Bai Mo nodded, showing that he understood.

Jian Haoqing informed her team. Most of the guests at the hotel were participants in the Qing Design Competition.

The finalists were still competing, while the eliminated teams had the option to stay and watch or pack up and leave. With so many people around, even with her wealth, Jian Haoqing couldn’t simply have the hotel clear them all out.

“At this time, the competition is still ongoing, and most of the people checking out have already left. If we keep a low profile, we shouldn’t disturb the other guests,” Bai Mo said as he crouched down to tighten his shoelaces. After standing up, he stretched his arms and legs, preparing himself for action.

Jian Haoqing was still confirming the mole’s room number with her team when, all of a sudden, the boy beside her shot forward like an arrow leaving its bow. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared, leaving only an afterimage by the elevator doors.

Jian Haoqing, still holding her phone: “……” This little brother-in-law is truly extraordinary.

With past experience working undercover as a cleaner in small inns, Bai Mo navigated the hotel with ease. Flashing a sweet smile, he quickly won the favor of the housekeeping staff. Then, putting on a pitiful act, he pleaded for a part-time job—just for a day’s wages, enough for a ticket home. He assured them he wouldn’t take away their livelihood.

The cleaning lady found the young man both pitiful and adorable, and feeling sympathetic, she agreed to help. After all, she was the one under contract with the hotel—there was no way the boy could take her job.

Bai Mo put on the housekeeping uniform, pushed a cleaning cart, and rang the doorbell.

“Hello, I’m here to clean the room.”

Since it was indeed the scheduled cleaning time, the people inside had no suspicion. Seeing the official housekeeping uniform through the peephole, they opened the door and let him in.

The boy kept his head lowered, revealing a delicate, well-defined chin—so exquisite that it made one curious to see his full face.

Inside the room, the accountant wasn’t alone. Also present was the business liaison from President Li’s side. The liaison, after opening the door, glanced at the boy bending over to change the bed sheets. His firm, perky backside was subtly outlined under the loose-fitting uniform pants, and his slender waist looked as if it could be encircled with just one hand. Unconsciously, the man swallowed hard.

Then, an even greater temptation presented itself.

In order to smooth out the bed sheets, the boy knelt on one knee on the mattress, his body swaying slightly with the motion of his hands as he worked.

At that moment, the liaison forgot about work, forgot that there was another person in the room, and simply acted on impulse—lunging at the boy just as he stood up.

“Mo Mo, watch out! Pervert alert!” Xiao Bobao shouted.

Bai Mo’s mind hadn’t fully processed the situation, but his body reacted faster than his thoughts.

With a swift side roll, he dodged, causing the liaison to fall face-first into the soft mattress. Bai Mo then shouted at the top of his lungs, “Help!” His cry startled the person inside the room.

The accountant stepped out, only to be met with the sight of the liaison sprawled on the bed, his shirt disheveled and pants partially unbuttoned. She gasped, covering her eyes as she shrieked, “Pervert!”

Bai Mo took the opportunity to hide behind the accountant, pretending to be frightened.

“Waaahhh! Big sis, help! This man—he tried to—”

The situation had escalated too quickly. Acting on pure instinct for self-preservation, the accountant grabbed anything within reach and began hurling it at the liaison.

“You disgusting pervert! What do you think you’re doing? Help! Somebody help!”

The accountant was so over-the-top in her reaction that Xiao Bobao was left utterly speechless.

Brilliant, my Mo.

Xiao Bobao double-checked Bai Mo’s true form—yep, he was indeed a little snow ferret. Ferrets were supposed to be cute animals, right? They shouldn’t be walking aphrodisiacs. So why was it that everyone who saw Mo Mo seemed to suddenly lose their minds?

Bai Mo spread his hands innocently. He had no idea either. Originally, he had planned to observe in secret and seize the computer while cleaning. But now, thanks to the chaos, the accountant had walked out on her own—making his job twice as easy.

While the accountant and the liaison were still caught up in their “battle,” Bai Mo swiftly slipped into the small inner room. He found the computer, halted the verification command, and interrupted the transfer just in time—the money hadn’t gone through.

The liaison, wincing from the pain, finally regained clarity. He forcefully stopped the “hysterical” accountant. “Enough! Is everything ready?”

The accountant struggled free from his grasp and ran toward the small room’s entrance, eyeing him warily. “Stay away from me! I’ll handle it myself. You are not coming in.”

She was terrified. The moment she had stepped out, she had witnessed the liaison attempting assault. She couldn’t overpower him, and she couldn’t leave until the transfer was complete. Even if she wanted to escape, the liaison wouldn’t let her. Her only option was to return to the small suite and figure out a way to get out of this mess.

Just as she was about to lock the suite door, she heard a friendly voice from the sofa.

“Miss Accountant, hello there~”

“You… Give it back!” The accountant’s face turned pale with horror as she stared at the USB drive in Bai Mo’s hand.

“This?” Bai Mo toyed with the drive, tossing it into the air playfully. Just as it was about to drop into a nearby water glass, his delicate fingers caught it effortlessly. “Nope, can’t do that. Sister Haoqing won’t allow it.”

“You were sent by the young lady…” The accountant’s face drained of color, her mind consumed by one terrifying thought: The young lady knows.

The miserable fate of the last person who had crossed Jian Haoqing was still fresh in her memory. Shaking her head, she desperately tried to banish those images.

“Give it back!” The accountant lunged at Bai Mo, attempting to snatch the USB drive.

She had no escape now. Whether she regretted her choices or not, Jian Haoqing would never let her go. If she failed, President Li’s side wouldn’t show her mercy either. But if she succeeded, at least President Li might protect her.

Bai Mo effortlessly dodged left and right, making her chase him in circles. Forget grabbing the USB—she couldn’t even touch the hem of his clothes.

The commotion inside the small suite quickly caught the attention of the liaison outside. Just as he was about to call the front desk to complain about the “housekeeper,” he suddenly realized something—the hotel’s cleaning staff were all women.

That boy wasn’t housekeeping. He had been sent by someone.

With a surge of anger, the liaison began pounding on the door frantically. “Open the door! Let me in!”

The accountant realized this too and turned to open the door.

Bai Mo’s sharp ears twitched—he had just heard the distinct sound of a weapon being loaded.

“Mo Mo, hide quickly!” Xiao Bobao shouted.

At that exact moment, Bai Mo flung open the window. Glancing down from the 29th floor, he grabbed a tablecloth, tied it securely to the window ledge, and gripped it tightly as he slid down.

“Ahhh—” Xiao Bobao let out a piercing scream. She was terrified of heights!

But Bai Mo was both daring and agile. When the tablecloth proved too short, he relied on his own skills to leap into the window of the floor below.

By the time the accountant and the liaison reached the window, all that remained was a floral-patterned tablecloth fluttering in the air. The person who had been holding onto it had vanished without a trace.

“Is he a ghost…?” the accountant muttered in disbelief. Vanishing from such a high floor in an instant—he had to be either a deity or a spirit.

The liaison, however, wasn’t superstitious. He was convinced that the boy had planned his escape in advance, likely fleeing through another window. One thing was certain—he hadn’t left the hotel just yet.

“Search the entire place. We have to find him.” The liaison barked orders into his walkie-talkie, instructing the men stationed throughout the hotel to begin their hunt.
