The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 30

Chapter 30 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (30)

Stepping into the He family home after a month away, Bai Mo took a deep breath of the fresh air as he gazed at the small garden before him—both familiar and unfamiliar. This place still felt the most comfortable. His father and brother treated him well, but the female lead was such an eyesore. When he had first moved in, she had tried to avoid him as much as possible. Lately, however, she seemed to be lingering around him every day.

“Wow, Mother He looks even more beautiful!”

Ever since the He and Dan families had decided to arrange an engagement between the two younger members, Bai Mo had started addressing Mother He this way. His sweet words always worked wonders, making He Mother beam with joy.

“Father He is still as handsome as ever! Ah, Ning Ning has grown so much—I can barely lift him now!”

Bai Mo never held back his compliments, making sure everyone got their share, leaving no one out. The entire He family was absolutely delighted.

“It’s good that you’re back, Mo Mo. You’ve lost weight—your chin is even sharper! I’ll personally make some nourishing soup for you later to help you recover.”

Mother He affectionately cupped Bai Mo’s round little face. There was a kind of thinness that only elders could see.

She then handed him some snacks and let him go play with Ning Ning. The little one was ecstatic to see his Brother Mo return, chattering away nonstop.

He Yuchi followed behind them, carrying a plate of small cakes. When they arrived at Ning Ning’s bedroom, the little boy put his hands on his hips and declared in a childish yet firm tone, “Big Brother is very busy! Brother Mo and I can’t disturb him. Big Brother, goodbye!”

A perfect example of using someone and discarding them immediately.

Bai Mo burst into laughter as he sat down on a chair. He truly loved this warm, familial atmosphere.

He Yuchi, half-willingly, was pushed out the door by Ning Ning. “Alright, alright, I’ll leave.”

The door closed gently, and from inside came the sounds of the boy and child laughing and playing. He Yuchi stood outside for a moment, listening, then smiled—helpless yet filled with warmth.

These two little ones at home, truly…

Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket. Glancing at the screen, the warmth in his eyes faded. His expression turned serious, and he quickly strode toward the study.

In the evening, Mother He called everyone for dinner. The two “big and small” children upstairs howled as they ran down, one heading to wash hands while the other helped set the table. The atmosphere was warm and harmonious.

“Mo Mo, go check on Yuchi and see why he hasn’t come down yet.”

Mother He held back Ning Ning, who was about to dash upstairs, and instead sent Bai Mo up with a smile.

The teenager didn’t suspect anything and tiptoed into the study. When he was three steps away from He Yuchi, the little snow ferret suddenly leaped—pouncing onto his dear boyfriend’s back.

He Yuchi’s body tensed for a moment, the lingering coldness on his face flickering away.

“Brother Yuchi, Mother He is calling you for dinner~”

Oblivious to the change in He Yuchi’s expression, the boy affectionately rubbed his cheek against his lover’s face.

The man put down his phone, and the cold aura around him completely dissipated. He reached back to support the teenager’s bottom, the firm yet soft feel tempting him to give it a squeeze.

“Ah! LSP!” (lecherous old man)

Bai Mo, flustered, balled his fists and playfully hit He Yuchi in embarrassment before jumping back. He clasped his hands behind him, his face flushed.

“I-I’m not ready yet…”

Before He Yuchi could respond, the teenager dashed out of the room in a shy panic.

He Yuchi glanced down at his hand, then toward a closed drawer. He had likely secured everything properly—nothing should have been left out. But now wasn’t the time. He needed to deal with the hidden threats first.

Thinking of the investigation results he had just received, his eyes darkened. Adoptive parents, Dan Xiaowen…

Ever since Bai Mo moved back to the He family, his smile had become more frequent. Even Dan Sihe no longer tried to persuade him to return home. Bai Mo was living in pure bliss—spending his days visiting Old Master Dan at the hospital and his nights putting Ning Ning to bed before indulging in his alone time with He Yuchi.

Their affection was so overwhelming that even Xiao Bobao, who usually enjoyed watching romance unfold, wanted to block them.

So unfair!

Some systems had to go on endless matchmaking attempts, failing over and over. Yet all this little snow ferret had to do was act a little spoiled, and a proud elite like He Yuchi willingly fell into his trap.

Bobao was sour—practically radiating lemony jealousy.

Under the doctor’s care, Old Master Dan was finally able to be discharged and return home. Accompanied by Bai Mo, the journey was filled with cheerful conversation. However, as they approached the house, the old man suddenly grabbed Bai Mo’s hand, refusing to let him leave.

“Mo Mo, come home.”

Facing the longing in the elderly man’s cloudy eyes, Bai Mo’s heart softened. He nearly nodded in agreement—until Madam Dan opened the car door. Her affectedly sweet voice shattered the somewhat melancholic atmosphere.

She helped Old Master Dan out of the car, but the driver made no move to drive into the garage. Only then did Madam Dan finally seem to notice Bai Mo. With feigned surprise, she said, “Oh, Mo Mo is here too…”

“Here too”? This was Mo Mo’s home—why would his presence be treated as an afterthought?

The more flaws Old Master Dan noticed in Madam Dan and her daughter, the more displeased he became with them. It was no wonder Mo Mo didn’t want to come back. If anyone was constantly alienated in their own home, they wouldn’t want to return either.

With a firm thud, the old man planted his cane against the ground. The dull sound struck Madam Dan heart like a hammer. She cautiously glanced at the dark expression on his face, confused as to what had upset him this time. Hadn’t she already adjusted her attitude toward Bai Mo? What more did he want?

She had forgotten one crucial truth: When someone finds you unpleasant, no matter what you do, it will always be wrong.

Although Old Master Dan still refrained from driving the mother and daughter out of the house out of past sentiment, he would no longer allow them to mistreat his child.

Turning away from them, he instructed the driver to take Bai Mo back to the He family. But when he faced Bai Mo, his voice softened considerably:

“Mo Mo, call me when you get home so I know you’re safe. If you want to play, play. If you want to eat, eat. Don’t be polite with me. If you don’t want to come back… then don’t.”

With those words, his withered hand extended a black card toward Bai Mo.

It was as if speaking those words had aged the old man even more. Bai Mo’s nose tingled with emotion. He did feel something for this “convenient father” of his. He could feel the old man’s care, his love.

“I will. I’ll come back to see you often.”

Bai Mo hugged Old Master Dan tightly.

“Dad… I’m sorry.”

Because of my selfishness, I can’t stay with you.

Feeling deeply guilty toward Bai Mo, Old Master Dan could no longer hold back his emotions upon hearing those words.

“It’s me who has wronged you, Mo Mo. When I’ve finished cleaning things up, you can come home.”

Some things don’t just fade away with time. The old man could never forgive those who had hurt Bai Mo. The ones who bullied him—every single one of them—would have to pay the price, double.

During his time recovering in the hospital, Old Master Dan hadn’t simply been resting. He had been investigating, uncovering many things—things that made him ache with guilt.

As he watched the car carrying Bai Mo disappear from sight, Madam Dan stepped forward and took his arm. But the very next second, the old man viciously shook her off.

Her seven-centimeter stiletto heels wobbled precariously, and she lost her balance, tumbling straight into the flowerbed.

For a moment, Old Master Dan instinctively reached out to help her. But the second he moved, something flashed through his mind, and he immediately froze. His gaze toward Madam Dan darkened with pain and disappointment.

“Is there anything you need to confess to me?”

The cold, ruthless look in his eyes sent a wave of panic through Madam Dan heart. She forced out a weak smile and feigned confusion.

“What are you talking about? What could I possibly have to hide from you…?”

No, it’s impossible. The old man would only punish someone if he had solid proof. If he hasn’t presented any evidence, then he doesn’t actually know. He’s just testing me…

Unbeknownst to her, she was already standing on the edge of a crumbling cliff.
