Chapter 226 – Professor, Please Don’t Raise Zombies (16)

Yan Luo broke through the barrier and successfully evolved to Level 6.

Of course, Yan Che noticed her condition. His pupils contracted slightly as he observed the changes in the small figure nestled in his arms.

As a speed-type zombie, her body structure hadn’t altered too drastically despite the evolution. She had grown a little taller, but she remained delicate and petite. Her silky hair now cascaded more smoothly, falling onto his arm.

Her once deathly pale complexion, which was unnervingly unnatural, had undergone a subtle change. It was now fair and radiant, carrying an almost human-like glow. A faint blush tinged her cheeks, and her long eyelashes trembled slightly as her half-lidded eyes fluttered open. She resembled a life-sized, exquisitely crafted porcelain doll.

Her soft pink lips parted slightly, and a tiny tongue flicked out to lick them. A faint murmur escaped her throat as she slowly opened her eyes.

Within those starry-night eyes, there was only his reflection.

Just by gazing at her, an unexpected sense of fulfillment welled up inside him. Yan Che’s fingers instinctively curled slightly.

“Yan Che?” Yan Luo blinked, lifting her hand to examine her now perfectly human-like fingers. They were fair, smooth, and tinged with a delicate pinkish hue.

Her bright eyes shimmered with excitement. “I’ve evolved.”

“Yes, you have,” Yan Che replied with a smile, his gaze briefly flickering downward to where her soft figure pressed against his chest.

Not only had her strength improved, but every aspect of her being now resembled that of a vibrant seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl. She had warmth, she had vitality, she was closer to being alive.

“Yan Che, let me go!” Yan Luo wriggled in protest, clearly displeased with the vines coiled around her waist.

Her lips pouted slightly, a picture of adorable perfection.

Yan Che’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Unable to resist, he reached out and tapped her lips lightly. At her puzzled expression, he finally loosened the vines.

As soon as she landed on the ground, Yan Luo noticed that her clothes no longer fit quite right. While they hadn’t shrunk much, they felt off in a way she couldn’t ignore, especially the way the fabric was now slightly stretched over her chest.

Yan Che’s gaze flickered over her once, then a second time before narrowing slightly. Adjusting his glasses, he spoke calmly, “Go take a bath and change. Then I’ll take you out to find supplies.”

“Huh? We’re going out again?” Yan Luo had just been tugging at her sleeve uncomfortably when her sharp nails accidentally tore a gash in the fabric. She was still trying to discreetly cover up the damage when she heard his words. Immediately, she pouted in dissatisfaction.

Her small frame swayed slightly, her reluctance clear.

It was only then that Yan Che belatedly realized. Perhaps her aversion to going out earlier had nothing to do with that unfortunate Level 4 zombie they’d encountered.

“You really don’t like going out? Tell me why, and I’ll consider it.” His glasses reflected the light as he asked the question softly.

Yan Luo mumbled something under her breath, barely audible, but Yan Che still caught it.

He almost wished he hadn’t.

For a rare moment, he blinked in stunned silence, visibly taken aback. “What did you just say?”

“I said, those zombies are scary!!”

Yan Luo lifted her head and shouted in frustration.

He had definitely heard her the first time, why pretend otherwise? Did he have to make her repeat it out loud? ╭(╯^╰)╮
